Hi there, I live in student infested area and some of the drunken little sh*ts have jumped or fallen on the bonnet. Not sure if Dent Devils or similar could do anything as is on crease line. Grateful for any suggestions for repairs in Newcastle area. Thanks

Hi, Check the max tyre pressure - should be on the tyre rim somewhere. I stopped pumping to 3 bar after checking this. About 36 psi is what I now use for fully laden. The 3 bar on the filler cap just seems wrong.

Hi, Often getting a clunk from front end when applying brakes lately. As though pressing the pedal & hitting a metal stop. No warning lights, no noticeable loss of braking power or pulling to one side etc. Other times, just get the normal 'whooshing' sound. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? 1.9 tdi ambiente, 54 reg. Thanks

It was a broken rear spring - offside ride height low so removed wheel to look. A bit annoyed as only a 4 year old car with 36000 miles & I creep over the b***dy road humps our beloved council sticks everywhere. Luckily have been cycling a lot lately so haven't used car that much, hope the rain holds off till I get it fixed.

Same happened to me today - 25 mph quiet road, radio on & stayed on. No obvious damage, maybe I hit a can which bounced up on underside? Sounds like I better check the springs.

Delaminating Octy 2 Windscreens - Merged Threads
lack26 replied to stu4rtparker's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Is this a VW/Skoda thing? Never heard of it before having an Octy. Had one windscreen replaced, no real probs. Thing is the replacement is starting to delaminate too. Car now out of warranty. Anyone heard of this on other vehicles? -
Loose electrical connection? Happened to me and found battery terminal connection not tight. No probs since. Cheers.

Happened to me once & only once in a busy motorway service carpark. Pretty sure it must be interference, don't think I pressed the key fob too long. Cheers.

Not an answer I'm afraid, but does anyone know how to adjust the front ones? Cheers

Flexible Services--I've gone mad !!
lack26 replied to HopeImRight's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
That's what it does, needs some time/mileage to recalibrate. Should show something sensible in a day or so. Puzzled me too at the time. Cheers -
Hi, Recently had the windscreen replaced under warranty due to delamination (2005 1.9tdi) and noticed the white trims on the inside of the pillars where they meet the dash have not been clipped in at the bottom. If I've managed to upload the picture you will see what I mean. It doesn't rattle or anything but I'm wondering whether to take it back. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to refix it - same on both sides of screen, or is it best left alone in case they make it worse? Cheers

Replacement aero wiper blades?
lack26 replied to Dr Zoidberg's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Halfords SET102 is a 600mm/24 inch and a 475/19mm blade for the front. Listed as suitable for Audi A3, Golf 5 & Jetta. No mention of Skoda but they are the right size and are fine - about -
Hi, No doubt the 2.0 is faster & more power, but the 1.9's no slouch either, and a good load lugger. Not been disappointed with mine, ploughs down the autobahn with wife, kids, camping gear & roofbox no bother. Its really plenty for normal use and so relaxing to drive. Cheers.

Tried the service interval again today & it now shows 14600 miles & 700 days to service, not just 3 dashes. My guess is it takes some time after service reset to collect data & provide new estimate - a bit like some of the other trip computer functions. Its now about 5 weeks since it had first service, time to start saving for the next one - thats Skoda price!

Too right the fuel cap says fully laden 3.3 bar or some ridiculous high figure, the tyres say do not exceed 48 psi (old money). Totally contradictory! I guess the moral of this story is check what it says on the tyres!
