  2. 8 stamps in service book and between £4k and £5k of maintenance/parts invoices
  3. Just had the interior professionally cleaned - edited original post. Pics below. Still drives tightly, no squeaks/rattles, no rust, no smoke from exhaust etc.
  4. 2002 (52) in black magic Mk 1 Octavia vRS for sale – Black, 84k, FSH (Brighton) General: Owned for last 3+ years, log book shows 2 previous owners but in reality a single person as this individual ran the car as a company car initially prior to purchasing himself. MOT Sep 2015. Has been on the variable servicing plan since new and due to relatively low annual mileage has been service every other year with cam belt and water pump changed every other service, last one being end of June 2014. Services carried out at main dealer apart from last one which was a local VW specialist (£700+ service). Fully stamped book supported by all invoices since new, all previous MOT’s etc. Always run on Shell V-Power. Additional work carried out during my ownership, with supporting invoices: -Coil packs replaced via recall by main dealer: July 2012 -New Starter motor: Nov 2012 -Full set of Falken tyres: Aug 2013 (now around 4-5mm tread all round) -Rear brakes replaced (discs/pads/callipers/handbrake cables): Nov 2013 Car benefits from the following options: -Rear parking sensors -Privacy glass (35%) B pillar back -Removable tow bar (previous owner had a canoe) -Autowatch Cat 1 Alarm/Immob with 2x remotes -Parrot Bluetooth hands free kit -Upgraded Sony head unit (original supplied as well) Completely standard car which to my knowledge has never been modified/chipped. I looked at a few prior to buying this one and this example certainly drove better than others even one other that had lower mileage, as this one had been better maintained. Negative points: Mainly bodywork… -Rear bumper: small deformation on N/S due to Wife reversing into a post at v/low speed -Alloys: All have kerbing marks and would ideally benefit from a refurb -A few minor marks here and there, scuffs, chips, small scratches – not bad, just being honest - worst one corner of n/s/f bumper. -Two small ‘pimple’ dents in the bonnet on the N/S, caused by builders accidentally dropping something on the bonnet. I haven’t had these looked at but would probably push out at Dent Magician or similar -Driver’s seat belt Stalk: the ‘spring’ has failed meaning that you have to press the release button to insert the seat belt, not bothered me enough to replace the stalk. -A ‘rumble’ has just started on the N/S/F, possibly a wheel bearing? Not had a chance to look at this as have a new car now. Summary: A very well maintained lower than average mileage example that has had no expense spared mechanically although with a few areas mainly cosmetically that let it down. Having said that it cleans up well and looks good for the age. Interior is good with no rips/wear. It does need a clean and I am planning on having it valeted professionally this week [edit: now done]. Priced very competitively to take into account the cosmetic issues. Quick sale desired as have replacement car now (the lure of another manual straight six BMW was too strong). No time wasters please: £1,450
  5. Hi and welcome, I recognise that car - looks like the one that was at Tempest, which I test drove in my recent search for one. I'm in Brighton just down the road from you.
  6. bloomin eck that is keen - I do the London to Brighton bike ride each year, 54 miles - that's a challenge for me to keep myself fit enough to do that each year!
  7. Hi all, Just picked up a mk1 Octavia vRS (in black) as a new family car after a drunk driver ploughed into the back of our 3 series M-sport touring writing it off. Luckily nobody was seriously hurt. Was really looking for another 3 series touring in M-sport spec but after 2 months of failing to find a decent one with the spec we wanted decided to spend less and go with a vRS - now we've had it for a week or so I'm glad we did as it seems like a great family car for the prices they can be picked up for. Size of the boot is impressive, probably bigger than the touring we had. Mine is a one owner example with 65k and full main dealer history, and pleased with it so far. Got it booked in for Valeo rear parking sensors to be fitted and just looking at Parrot bluetooth kits. Also thinking about new shocks as whilst the ones on the car aren't kaput, they feel a little past their best so may go with a new set of Bilstein B4's together with new top mounts and bearings and maybe the S3 lower brace, we'll see. I've also got a track spec supercharged mx5 mk1 for weekend fun (204bhp / 900kg) and am also quite into bikes (pedal and petrol powered!) Based in Brighton so not sure if there are any meets around here?
