  1. I bought a carbon fibre heated seat kit for £20 and will fit it when I get a chance. will splice the carbon pads into the original wiring.
  2. tell the dealer they get to pay for it, its part of the car.(skoda and dealer then split the cost) car should be good for 6 years under sale of goods act. if that don't work get it repaired! dealer did mine eventually but couldn't fix it correctly ! auto electrician sorted it. firmware vs hardware problem i.e new board but not new module.
  3. hi i have this intermittant problem as well lock and unlock car whilst pressing release. needs to push down a bit further for some reason, i'm going to add a bit of felt to the tip at some point. use palm of hand on side of fuel release door closest to boot hope that helps
  4. plusnet, no problems, downloads on p2p very quick. I had sky, no longer required before I went fibre, makes it much easier and quicker now unlimited so no download limits either
  5. did you get the dsg box mapped as well? thought they only liked 350nm through it. and the leading question, how much? will be doing this with dpf removal at some point
  6. pioneer do a direct replacement for Columbus avic 9130bt I think, also in faulty unit it may be the motherboard (was I mine). http://www.carsystems.pl/navigation-parts,c31.html they sell them but not cheep.
  7. chances are the base pad is broke (like mine). dealer wants £80 for a new element + fitting which I expect would take a few hours. i'll get mine done eventually, but having just had mot, service, cambelt and 2 tyres with oil service on dsg to come I may have to wait a while....
  8. hi all i have a 2009 elegance and the satnav died on me, dealer and skoda paid for repairing the system (new motherboard). on completion all seemed well til the other day when using the satnav, the white matrix between the dials has no nav option anymore? i suspect i may need either a newer can gateway or some coding. any help appreciated. info from satnav 3t0035680b hw version H70 sw version 4120 map version 7920 thanks roj
  9. had this, gone to dealer twice. they say its fixed, i doubt it. will continue to annoy them til its fixed.( currently seems ok, but will see)
  10. the columbus issue will affect every satnav eventually, the problem you have is that it contains a hard drive laptop type 2.5". after 14 years in I.T i can say without much doubt that if you get more than 3-4 years before it fails you are lucky. hard drives in laptops which get hard use i.e on the road all the time, tend to fail between 2 and 3 years. they may not be complete fails may just corrupt the software and require complete reinstall of software. (this works cos it recognizes the bad sectors) good luck getting a dealer to admit that he just reloaded the software. mine failed with hdd problem but skoda and dealer covered cost of "motherboard repair" ,bet it isnt the motherboard either.
  11. in the uk the passanger mirror actually sits at a greater angle slanted back than the drivers mirror. hence folding in closer.
  12. by the sounds of it its either the upper filters/lower filters problem, (registry change, follow microsoft fix earlier in post) or your cd drive has had it. if you eject the cd drive (may require a screw removing depending on type) if its connector is same as photo above see below your cd drive type is now 2-3 years old, you would require an IDE type NOT SATA. there are also 2 thickness types so be aware of that. i think your gonna struggle to buy a new one :( ebay may be your freind if not similar then its SATA and you can buy 1 for less than £20 from eclipse computers. also try http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316529 if you tell us laptop make and model i can probably tell you how to remove the cd drive

used the one in hinckley for a service on a passat. very knowledgeable. very nice people, even though the manager looks like peter griffin
  14. hi bought 2nd hand skoda superb 2, elegence with dsg. 60k on the clock and they has serviced it. got good value for my trade in and a years skoda warrenty thrown in.(they even updated the satnav maps) has some minor niggles but had no problems getting them sorted. skoda courtesy car (fabia) half the service department used to work at Kia had no problems there either.(traded the sedona in) yes would use them again
  15. if you like that, try the wheel of time series by robert jordan, last book comes out later this year/start of next year. that will just give you time to read the other 12 or 13. if you think omg how many, its very good, better than lord of the rings. and dont forget you can read them all, i read the first one 1991 its been a loooong wait. as far as fantasy and scifi go ,ive either got it, read it or you need to tell me cos i need some more to read. lol i dunno how many i have read but its gotta be in excess of 20,000. i got around 3k on shelves (ebooks are now my freind )
