  4. Having had a 1.2tsi for 12 months now yes they are smaller than the Octy but being narrower they are tighter for room but the Sport one we have on the 215/40/17 tyres sticks to the road like s--- to a blanket handles very well and gets to 125 quickly and easyly had it for 12 months now and last week was the first other one i have seen on the road and that was an estate so they aint common the engine is that quiet i have to check the rev counter to see if its running
  5. Skoda uk did a video of the locknut being faulty and have said to the customer that Skoda have not autherised a replacement nut for any repairs done under insurance work by them personaly i would get the insurance company to investigate and persue Skoda
  6. New Fabia owners beware , a friend has a 1.2 Fabia III and lives on a hill he came home the other night and parked the car facing uphill moved his wifes citigo on to the drive and went in . He has CCTCV and it shows the Fabia move backwards approx 6 inchs then stops then after another 8 mins it does it again then 13 mins later it moves and carries on down the hill till it crosses the road and hits a wall and stops damaging the bumper offside light tailgate and kinked the rear os wing 1/4 panel the handbrake was still applied the start of it shown on the CCTV on checking the car it was found that the handbrake adjuster locking nut was loose and finger tight when not under tension it had wound itself off and slackend the cable the so called locknut is loose and not crimped properly Skoda says its his fault for not putting the handbrake on properly and not parking in gear with the lock pointing into the curb as all new driving instructors teach not to leave the cars in gear now i think someone is trying to pull a fast one anyone else had a problem i have just seen a simular thing with an AUDI A1 cheers

  10. Having just bought a 10 plate 1600tdi SE octavia from Rainworth Skoda with a 1st years service im surprised to find all they apear to have done is an oil change on the car i would have expected pollen filter and fuel filter being done as well so can anyone advise me as to what is done on an anual service as it seems a secret from Skoda themselves as i am still waiting for a response to a previous email to them Also as a selling point the fuel consumption seems high compared to our 1.9tdi we traded in sorry but another queerey should the engine top out at 2500rpm when stationary the engine revs fine when in motion
  11. Mk1 octavia yesterday had a problem with the wipers they wouldent turn off that then cured itself now the central locking is acting up on trying to open the drivers door with the fob it opened then immediately locked again this happens every time it is operated also the same using the key the only way to get in the car is to open the boot lid as the fob unlocks it open the drivers door shut the boot then the doors lock im suspecting it may be damp or something in the boot lid lock am i fishing in the right spot cheers
