  1. Hi are these still for sale?
  2. Hi all, i have a spare set of headlights which id like to have projectors installed. Is there anyone around the birmingham area that would be able to do this for a fee? Cheers :-)
  3. Try unplugging the MAF and see how it runs. If runs at normal boost, would seem the MAF needs replacing.
  4. Yes, the ecu should be returned in the next few days. The company has stated, once all the parts are changed over to the kit above, there wont be any issues regarding immobiliser etc.
  5. Update ECU company have said ECU software is corrupted and beyond repair. He gave me an ebay link of a complete ecu kit for the car. Would it require any coding? Ebay link: 142055716926
  6. The engine code is BBY. When cranking the engine, its turning at normal speed, just not starting at all. The EML light comes on the dash after trying to start the car. The car has manual locking. Yes the fuel smell is strong when trying to start the car, and theres half a tank in there. Ive sent off the ECU to a company in Stoke to have it tested. The auto locksmith who checked the key stated if there was an immobiliser fault, the car would start then cut off. So as the key itself is fine, need to check whether the ECU is also. Hopefully will receive a response by Thursday
  7. I was just speaking to someone who had a Golf which had the same error code, ECM No communication, and they stated that they sprayed connection cleaner in the ECU plugs and left for 10mins or so, reconmected and it started.. would this be recommended to try?
  8. Update: Had the key checked at an auto locksmith, they have confirmed the transponder is fine. I have a basic Fault Reader at home and using the Torque App, the fault code P0501 appears; vehicle speed sensor.
  9. Two wire plug. It was definitely the ECT sensor, as i had to take the clip which holds the coolant sensor in, out, in order to turn the sensor itself, to unplug it
  10. No unfortunately my sister only has the one key. The car has done this in the past, failed to start but after a few tries, it fires up. However this time, as ive stated it just turns over. Im glad that this can be checked in the value blocjs as youve stated tech1e, however the garages around my area just about know how to use a diagnostic so im not too confident theyll know exactly where to look and what to find :-/
  11. Hi all, my sisters Fabia up for sale. Details; 2002 "02" Skoda Fabia 1.4 16V Automatic Classic spec Fantasy Green 36,300ish miles, all genuine FSH MOT til May 2017 My sister is the second or third owner, will confirm. Good bits: Car drives very nice and smooth. Very comfortable and relaxing to drive, being an automatic. Bodywork is in good condition and so is the interior. Car hardly is driven, as it is used for school runs on the rare occasion. Very low mileage. Oil, oil/ air filter, spark plugs were all changed less than 2000milea ago. Bad bits; A few days car turns over but doesnt start. Have had the car diagnosed and comes up with the following faults; ECM no communication ECT fault Ive had abit of advice from the forum about having the car diagnosed in order to completely identify what the issue is. Ive unplugged the ECT sensor to see if the car starts, however it does not. Reason for sale is, ive had a quote from a local garage stating they can diagnose and fix the issue but itll cost £45 an hour and the garage doesnt know how long theyll hold the car for as they are extremely busy. Therefore my sister wants to sell the car and just buy another. This would make a great buy to someone who has access to VCDS and is in the know about cars and troublefixing. Location; Birmingham, Smethwick, near the West Albion football stadium. Pictures will be uploaded later today. Alternatively i can be messaged on Whatsapp and i can send photos that way if need be. Price; Not too sure what to price at, as im sure itll be a fairly cheap fix for someone in the know; £600 or offers. Contact; 07719910477 Cheers all
  12. Spoke to midlandsvw, who are vw specialists, and they stated they can look at the car, to diagnose the fault is £45 per hour and they wouldnt be able to state how long itll take. They are extremely busy with big jobs so could be in the garage for weeks. My sister now wants to sell the car, so i shall put an ad up. Cheers all
  13. Okay, i had the car diagnosed yesterday which showed the fault codes, what else needs to be done, in terms of running a diagnostic on the car?? I just dont want to pay another mobile mechanic to run another diagnostic which again just will tell me fault codes
  14. I unplugged the sensor with attaches on the back of the ECT, which plugs into the plastic thermostat. Hmmm i dont know what to do now.. So if the smell of fuel indicates there cant be a problem with the ecu, could it be the key that needs recoding? Oh and i don't have access to do a diagnostic on the car again, unless i pay a mobile mechanic, which after the last one, i dont really want to do
  15. Okay how would i now confirm there is no communication with the ecu and diagnose the cause?? :/
  16. I just disconnected the ECT sensor and the car still didnt start.. Is it still worth buying another ECT to see if it fixes the issue?
  17. Okay thanks. Ill disconnect the ECT tomorrow morning and post what happens
  18. I thought as much lol Thanks for the advice. If a new ECT doesnt fix the car, what would be the next step to take?
  19. Had car scanned, here are the followinh fault codes; 16502 ECT Fault 17978 ECM disabled 01314 ECM No communication The mechanic stated the issue could be that the key needs recoding or a new ECU. Would the ECT be causing this issue? Need help guys, much appreciated
  20. Id have to get the car scanned to check the timing im assuming?
  21. Damn, so ill need to do a compression test to see if any damage has been done?
