Hi all, I have recently been in touch with my local dealer about changing the cam belt on my 2011 Octavia 1.6 Diesel. They inform me that the the change date is every five years or 120,000 miles Now if this is correct given the price it costs I am happy with this. BUT this seems very high milage what do other owners think. At the moment I have 41,000 on the clock.

But what about cars purchased now after the details came to light?

Got mine about a month ago Octavia 1.6 2011. I have also noticed that on looking at changing it for a Superb 2ltr at my Skoda dealer yesterday the details for the cars had small print saying that after purchase the VED price may change!!!! Now I don't know what to do, at least if I hang on to my Octavia if there is compo to be paid regarding road Tax I will be in with a chance to get it covered, but if I swop cars knowing the situation I will get nothing towards a tax increase. What do you think?

Hi all, I am looking at upgrading to a Superb probably 2ltr SE manual 2014. Now what does the Superb SE have over the Octavia Elegance which I have And what does the Superb SE have over the Superb Elegance? I have looked for a list that gives all these details to no avail.

Hi, I have a 2011 Octavia 1.6 diesel with 41000 on the clock I would be grateful if someone could tell when should I be getting the cam belt changed? I cant seem to find anything in the manual.

I am paying £30 tax for 1.6 Octavia estate diesel Elegance 2011

Hi all I have just been looking at skoda's for sale and come accross this model Octavia 2.0 TDI CR SE Estate DSG In the write up for it the road tax is the same as I pay £30 for my Octavia 1.6! And the MPG is also saying the same as mine 64 combined! This model is an automatic and I thought automatics used more fuel. If these figures are correct it makes sense to buy one?

Skoda are paying for the part and I am paying for fitting, with a 2 year parts and labour warranty.

Update to this problem is that car gone into limp mode once more (glow plug light did not come on this time) Took it into Skoda for diagnostic check, and it come up as faulty EGR Valve!! The first shock was the price £ 800 + Second shock was that because I use the same Skoda dealer for service they have dropped the price to £480!!!! The Third shock was they have given me a courtesy car for the weekend. My car is a Octavia 1.6 diesel 2011 38000 miles bought from this dealer 2 years ago. Is this a good deal or is there a bit of a con regarding the price in the first place, seems to good to be true

But would that cause loss in power??

Hi all, today the glow plug light has started flashing and power to car has dropped. Any ideas?

Have just received the Invoice breakdown is...... Oil plus various filters and screenwash £261.39 (I agreed to a replacement battery in the remote key) £129 for the rear brake pads.Which I agreed to on the phone and (mentioned in second post) £39,60 Brake fluid. (which I thought was in with the £259) Total £429,99 Lesson learned.

I have been charged for Oil,filter, four filters, sump plug, screenwash, brake fluid, which I thought was in with the £259!!

The only thing they phoned me about was rear break pads!

Hi all I have just had a phone call to say my 1.6 Diesel Octavia is ready to be picked up after a major service. On asking the price I was told it is £430.09 I didn't say anything at the time, and before I go in all guns blazing I wonder if someone can shed some light on the Skoda Servicing price of £259 for a major service on Skoda's web site.
