  1. The car is being written off. Looks like by the time I've messed about it's not worth me buying it back. Anyone got one for sale!!??
  2. I'm not too fussed about it being on the cat regester. It's an old car anyway so wont make much differance to it's value.
  3. They havent seen it yet. I expect they will write it off, if they dont like his quote I might buy it back and still get it done. Otherwise it is in realy good nick and I've spent a few quid on it.
  4. Could be a voltage problem. Try cleaning the earth points under the battery.
  5. I'm going to see if I can get it repaired in a friends garage if the insurance company is ok with that or maybe buy it back off them. Needs a new bumper, crash bar, tailgate and a bit of a pull on a jig to get gaps around the tailgate straight. It's dark so pics wouldnt realy show much.
  6. I'm having a bad day! A van drove into the back of me. Looks like it will be a write off as the rear wings have moved out a bit. If anyone has a decent VRS for sale let me know (I'm in Worcester).
  7. Brake light switch (get the uprated one). Maybe check the earths under the battery as that can cause a few wierd things.
  8. Try cleaning the earth points under the battery. You might need the codes clearing too.
  9. Interesting this. I've had it happen a couple of times, both times I has a fair bit of weight in the boot. Coming off a roundabout and joining a motorway slip road. Both times I wasnt hanging around but certainly not pushing it. Bloody scarey as there was no warning. Seems to be ok since I got better tyres.
  10. You could try caustic soda but its nasty if you get it on yourself.
  11. Try cleaning the earth points under the battery tray. That brought up some of the same fault codes on mine as you have.
  12. Try cleaning up the earth points under the battery tray. That caused all sorts of wierd problems with mine.
  13. This mornings entertainment. On the faulty MAP sensor on my VRS one of the screws was rusted solid and the other snapped off. What should have been a 10 min job turned into be stripping half of the contents of the engine bay out and having to resort to a drill, file and hacksaw blade, and hammer to get the sensor off.
  14. PM me with details if you fancy selling it.
  15. I'm guessing if the dealer fitted them they are still skoda parts?
  16. Is it possbile to retro-fit an origonal alarm? How would I go about it and what parts do I need?
  17. You can get uprated switchs on ebay which are much better quaility.
  18. I put some metal cable ties on mine. Would of pulled it off but my job means I end up parking on long grass a lot.
  19. How have you been gitting on with it? I quite fancy trying this but would want to keep my Skoda head unit (want to keep it a close to ome as possible).
  20. Pics would be good if its not a pain. Might buy an arch as they are quite cheap.
