  1. Tim was that deal on a 230 vRS or the standard vRS? Just trying to get an idea so I can haggle with my dealer 'if' they ever decide they want to sell me one :0/
  2. My dealer still has no information on the 230 edition despite my several calls to them and registered interest. Baffling really. Has anybody had a 230 on a PCP deal?
  3. I have always had PCP deals. First one was Citroën, then BMW/Mini, Fiat and last two have been with VW/Skoda. Always put minimal deposit in (£500 or less) and each dealership has always paid and cleared my PCP completely. My current Skoda dealer ring me up every two years or less (they've rang me twice already to change and only had my current car since March 2014). Obviously this is great if you do want to change cars but in my experience I have never had to fork out cash to offset negative equity. Most dealers won't let you leave the showroom!
  4. Haha my local dealer also said the same thing. I was talking to the sales manager as well and said 'the 230bhp vRS Octy looks nice'. His response 'they're doing one are they? Didn't know anything about that'. *face palm*
  5. Thinking of investing in some OZ alloys. Anybody got OZ fitted to their Fabia? I like the WRC's in white (17's)
  6. I was just browsing through their twitter feed and I think it's within a reply to a follower who was asking about vRS's in general. Pretty sure there will be more than 500 available, there always is!
  7. Yeah I do like the Cupra280 just depends what the PCP payments are like. The same for VW. Better depreciation on the GTI and R over the Cupra and my local Seat dealer just wasn't interested in the slightest when I went to enquire about one.
  8. Limited to 500 as well in the UK according to @SKODAUK Twitter feed. I have just about given up on this model now. For the money, I'll be seriously looking at a VW Golf GTI or the R (via Carwow).
  9. Thanks for the replies folks picked up mats this evening and they are just plain with Fabia written on them as JVickery says. Oh well. At least I'm not alone in this one. Probably down to costs why they have stopped doing them? Dealer said the Octavia vRS is the same. My 2011 vRS had lovely mats in red stitching vRS logo on etc. wish I had kept them now! Lesson learned.
  10. Afternoon all! Picked up my 2nd vRS couple of weeks ago and and dealer has said will provide me with mats (should think so as well) and they are on order. Got a call today to say Skoda don't do vRS mats anymore! My 2011 vRS had them with red stitching and had vRS logo on etc but salesman says they stopped doing them? Can anyone confirm if this is correct or have I been fobbed off with bog standard Fabia mats?
  11. Just checked and its just shy of full (under the top line on the dipstick).
  12. Hi George. All I had at home was 1 litre so I put that in. I park on a slight gradient so it was measuring halfway. I'm off out tonight to visit my folks so when I park up I'll leave it for an hour and check on the flat.
  13. Cheers James. Went into slight panic mode yesterday and its been bothering me today at work lol.
  14. Noticed this flashing at me yesterday on my drive home (never flashed up before). Drove 20 miles or so (flashed up three times I think in total). Put 5W30 fully synthetic oil in as soon as I got home. Question is, is that 20 miles likely to have buggered the engine in any way?
  15. Don't most review sites slag off auto boxes anyway? Most car reviewers are petrol heads and their favourite films are Fast & Furious (oh Lordy) what does that tell you. Biased as hell. The DSG gearbox is by far (IMO) the best auto box on the car market to date. Take it from someone that only passed his test in an auto so I'm confined to automatics and I have driven them all BMW, AUDI, Merc, Mini, Fiat, VAG etc and the DSG is by far the best. I have the vRS Fabia MKII and its the best car I car i have ever had. The Bugatti Veyron has a DSG box too.......
  16. Thanks George. I'll post here with an update long run today and got 30.2mpg oil temp was 82. Something definitely not right with it.
  17. Bit of a mixture really George. Some driving less than 10 miles and some well over and the reading just doesn't seem to want to move upwards and when it does it will be like 26.1........3 mins later 26.2 then nothing for a while etc. The exact same journeys before less than 10 and over etc were a minimum of 38mpg always. Oil temp I will check out today when i go out for a run in it. When I'm stuck in town traffic now the mpg just drops on a constant basis even had a reading of 11mpg the other day. Getting stuck in town traffic before it just dropped ever so slowly, now I can see it dropping drastically. It's literally doubling my petrol costs if not more weekly. If it carries on at this rate and Skoda will find nothing wrong (as I suspect they probably will do as they always fob me off) the car will (sadly) have to go.
  18. My vRS is booked in to the dealers on Monday for engine diagnosis regarding my loss in mpg. Just so I know what to have checked can anybody let me know what to make the dealer aware of to check off so that all possible avenues have been checked: Air filter O2 sensor General engine diagnostic check Breather pipe Anything else specific I should be asking to have checked? I'm not mechanically minded so just want to be prepared. I still can't get better than 28mpg at the moment ad that's without lights/heater/wipers on etc Cheers
  19. I have had no warning lights or anything to identify pressure loss in any of the tyres. To be honest in the 12 months I have owned the car I don't even know about tyre pressure system on the car or how to set it up if it hasn't already been. I'll have a look at that and consult the manual
  20. Yeah some are absolutely ridiculous when they quote you. I would be happy with £409 if that ended up being the cheapest which I suspect it will be (will definitely keep a look out for those sneaky extras should they try and load them onto the policy). Skoda quoted me £890 and tried Aviva and they were £537. Looks like my days of owning a VW Golf R32 may be numbered if I'm getting these quotes for a Fabia
  21. Thanks folks. I'm trying a few quotes out now. Skoda up first....
  22. Done several quotes online and the cheapest I have been quoted is with Diamond insurance for £409 fully comp. I'm 31 and have 8 years no claims. Can anyone recommend any insurers not on comparison sites for a quote. Lee
