  1. In fairness you are an asset, where as I'm an asshole
  2. You have PM. There's some ECU tuned files in there as well. Not sure how relevant they are these days but have a look. If any wants any of it feel free to pass it round
  3. Most of you probably don't me. I used to knock around here for a long time back then. I was once known as Fatty5000 Ken o'Neil probably remembers :-) I've got a file hanging round that covers the Mk1 Octy RS stuff, ETKA stuff, tuning common probs, It's taking up space in my online folder. Would anyone like to take charge of it for the greater good ... the greater good It's probably out of date now to a point, you know 17705 code is history and pop-corn mods or something are all rage ... maybe .... I don't know and that ... whatever! (way past this point myself... Drive a BMW these days) but it may come in useful! Let me if it's any use or it's just some old skool **** that the mapper told you not to worry about.
  4. That sounds like what happens when the brake light switch is knackered. car thinks you are braking and cuts power.
  5. TB reading sounds good to my distant memory, I'd seriously rule out the fuel pump, they are now at minimum of 13 years old some as much as 18 years old. They ain't built to last, do you know anyone with an 1.8T golf or Leon you can do a swap with, they are a piece of **** to change. I farted about with mine so many times I had it down to about 3 mins to change one. All a long time ago now though. Other than that I can think the mapping may be playing up, are you all standard maps ? Stuff like N249's and N75's are almost never at fault, loading up the parts cannon gets expensive and never really fixes these weird no code issues. Another thought, coil pack wiring ?? You can log AFR which may give a clue, this can be done with torque app. There was an issue years back with the standard maps which IIRC Jabbasport uncovered the problem, that was about ten years ago. Just for info here, mine got sold when on 180k, hardware was original except coils and DV, all the other bits, N249 and N75 were fine at that mileage, Sorry this is a bit disjointed. I'm brain storming an old subject here lol My bible during 1.8T days https://drive.google.com/open?id=1gLa-cPJs8Z3EUmFYzbDXCDWQcLwLl7bm
  6. Bingo, thats what mine did, over about 3.5k and thats when it showed it's age, boost would go all over the place, no codes in ecu, no other clues either.
  7. I'd be looking at the fuel pump next. Got one you can borrow, easy to swap out.
  8. Bare with me I'm rusty on the Mk1 I used to use the nefmoto software to flash the ECU http://www.nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/, the maps were from people on here or from a local guy I know, tried and tested on mine and a few others, worst that happened was a boost pipe popped of an intercooler, not on mine I may add, although that was more than likely due to it being weak in the first place and the extra boost was a little more than it could handle. I'll add the file to the folder but you'll need to do your own research into loading them as I can't honestly remember how the hell I did it all back then. there's an XDF file in there, got no idea what that does but I think it's needed lol
  9. It is now, I removed it form Dropbox due to space issues as I use the Dropbox for work stuff more these days. Now available on Google drive. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RBybvaN-HBxZ-GYPlmmpob5B6xRjx9tt?usp=sharing Anyone into loading there own maps on to the Mk1 ??? I've got some map files if anyone wants them.
  10. FYI Cardiff branch now at Moy Road industrial estate Taffs Well. Still serving me as public so no issues there.
  11. That said I've had a good read and the reviews vary, I think I'll give the Icy dock a go. Thanks again.
  12. Cool thanks fellas, they are the ones I have looked at and as said the reviews ain't up too much.(Longevity being the main issue) Looking for something a bit higher end if possible.
  13. Afternoon girls .... It's been a while! I'm after suggestions for removable drive rack I can fit in front drive bay for a work PC, we remove the drive each day and lock it in a safe, this means it's left hanging out of the tower each and of course I stood on it this morning! Luckily the sata power connector snapped rather than the drive end. I've seen a few on Amazon but the reviews ain't great, it's for 2.5 SSD so doesn't need much cooling (if any). Just after something that is happy being removed each day and can connect to the motherboard as it's the system (C) drive. Answer on a postcard to the usual address. TIA
  14. From experience if there's no codes it could well be that your fuel is having trouble keeping up with demand, really need those logs in csv format and ideally a requested and actual boost reading. Got anyone near you that can swap pumps with ?? A mk4 golf gti would do as it's the same pump
  15. I'd be checking the fuelling if there's no codes Whats the mileage on the car ??
  16. Yeah thats an old folder !! I know there's a text file in each archive that list the PDf no's, It's just a case of rummaging and then creating your own fine for your model. If you have a vRS your good to go as I did that bit for you years ago. Also a very technical mapping doc which was way above my pay level lol.
  17. Last time I checked they were all good with winrar. I'll have a look when I get home though
  18. I just remembered my old folder on the Mk1 vRS, there's the complete Mk1 octavia WSM's in there to. Feel free to help yourselves https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bbtm8vehv7lt2q3/AACL7dCLAgugtvbVmq6MB3hJa?dl=0 Let me know if you have any problems accessing it as I move the stuff around in dropbox now and then
  19. He was mentioned to me the other day, turns out he goes mountain biking with a few of other mates. I've heard good things.
  20. I see Seven's days are numbered, you should have run the upgrade !! I think most screwed installs stem from the PC in question rammed full of old ****e to start, I have noticed older machines dump a lot of manufacturer crap during the upgrade, I've done a fair few ten upgrades and had very few issues, the driver support is fantastic compared to previous versions. I did a XP install recently and it was a complete pain in tits, it took days to get updated and finding drivers was hard work, a fresh ten installs in the time it takes to make a cup of tea on a decent system.
