  1. I have tried to end this thread properly. I clicked on 'more reply options' but was still unable to find out how to put SOLD into the title thread and also how to lock the thread. There must be other options somewhere else but not easy to find. It looks like many other posters have also had the same problem.
  2. REDUCED to SELL at £175 or near offer. If interested contact me within next 48 hours.
  3. Over 200 views on these wheels! Anyone interested in making me an offer around £250 for these before I put them on Ebay?
  4. Our 1.6 tdi CR 105 gives just over 60 mpg. Had it just over 3 years and do a mixture of city driving and fair amount of motorway driving. During this time only had the DPF warning light come on twice. A 12 -15 mile blast at 60 mph + in 4th gear has cured the problem. Disapointing fuel consumption at first, low 50's but since about 18,000 miles consisistently get around 60 mpg
  5. Set of four Skoda Comet alloys from our 2012 Fabia Mk2 Elegance with original factory fitted Dunlop SP Sports Maxx tyres size 205/45 R16 tyres. Wheel details – Original part number - 5J0 071 594 16 inch x 6.5J ET 43 (offset 43mm) 5 x 100 PCD (pitch circle diameter 100mm) The wheels overall are in very good condition. Wheel 1 and wheel 2 are perfect. Wheel 3 has slight mark on spoke around 6 o’clock in photo. Wheel 4 has some kerb damage due to parking mishap. (I do still love her ). From a distance the damage is hardly noticeable but closer you can see some damage. Fortunately the scoring is not very deep. On the photos you can see the damage around 9 o’clock, 12 o’clock, 1 o’clock and 2 to 3 o’clock. All the tyres are worn evenly and I have checked the depths with a gauge and the minimum you have on any tyre is 4.0mm, so still some useful life left. You can see from the tyres tread photo that the treads are considerably above the tyre wear indicator bars. (numbers on tyres are chalk not paint!) As regards price I would think £300 would be a fair price, (brand new, these wheels and tyres would cost nearly £1,000), but a close offer may be acceptable. Would prefer cash on collection. We are in south Birmingham, B90 postcode, only about 3 miles from J3 or J4 of the M42.
  6. Thanks Ad Lav Just signed up and paid for FREEDOM membership. Will post again in next few days when taken some photos of my Comet alloy wheels (At the moment ) When I am ready, I don't know whether it would be best to place my 'for sale' advert in this thread or start a new thread? Perhaps someone could advise me which is best?
  7. I also have some wheels for sale but don't know how to post on this classified forum.
  8. Tickover speed now sorted. Car was in Skoda garage for about 2 weeks with numerous electrical faults - alternator only charging intemittently, heater fan would stop working and then work again next time started egine + other minor electrical glitches. Anyway technical department at Skoda after much head-scratching suggested an earthing/ground fault. This was the problem - clear signs of arcing at one of the major earting points. Cleaned and tightened up and electrical faults cured. Major side benefit - tickover now always quickly settles dow to a steady 800 rpm. I can now reverse without slipping the clutch all the time. In traffic, when I select 1st or 2nd gear the tickover does rise to 900 but I can creep forward at much lower speeds. I can also go round some roundabout in 3rd gear now on a trailing throttle with far less surge than I had before. Overall MPG has improved fractionally from 55 to 57 mpg. Worth getting your Skoda agent to check earthing/grounding if you still have high tickover pronlem
  9. My Fabia diesel 1.6 CR 105 is just under 2 years old and is now in the garage for third time with persistent electrical faults, battery not charging in spite of alternator having been replaced under warranty, also many times, the heater fan stops working intermittently. ( turn engine off, restart engine and fan works again - but you can't do that on the motorway) Fortunately the last time I got a good video of the fault on my mobile phone and Skoda HQ are scratching their heads to come up with a solution. However, I digress, my dealer has kindly loaned us a brand new Skoda Rapid Elegance fitted with the same 1.6 CR 105 engine. Once warmed up this engine in the Rapid consistently ticks over at 750 to 800 rpm whereas in my Fabia it alway ticks over between 1000 to 1100 rpm. Another point of interest is that in the 200 or so miles of mixed motoring I have done in the Rapid I have averaged 67 mpg! this is incredible for a new engine which is not run in. Skoda claim an overall mpg of 64.2 mpg and in my short experience this is easily acheivable. In my Fabia, which has now done over 16,000 miles I am disappointed to still only average 55 mpg. My old Mark 1 with the 1.9 PD engine averaged 60 mpg and I did 100,000 miles in it over 10 years, with no time off the road other than normal servicing. So why do we have to put up with a car which ticks over at 1000+ rpm and acheives nowhere near the manufacturer's claimed overall mpg when they can get it right in the Rapid? My latest Fabia has so far been 4 weeks off the road and as you can imagine I am not a happy bunny. I am just hoping that they offer me an incredible trade in on my unreliable Fabia and let me keep this Rapid which will be far more economical to run. (motoring journalists have also got over 70 mpg on long runs in diesel Rapid)
  10. First 1500 miles on new Fabia 1.6 CR tdi 105bhp. Computer shows 60 mpg but just over 7% optimistic (checked manually over 3 refuellings) so true is 56mpg. Don't assume your computer mpg is correct. My wifes old Passat diesel estate also 7% optimistic but my last fabia was accurate. A bit disappointing as consistently averaged 60mpg in my old PD version which I had for 10 years and did just over 100,000 miles in. Reckon the 110 ponds saving each year in road tax should more or less make up the difference. However did hope to get a least a true 60 mpg - so instead of being 10 mpg better (official) fuel consmption at present I am actually getting 4 mpg worse. Has anyone managed to average the official combined 67 mpg? Quick pointers compared with my old Fabia (elegance) better ride over bumps but more roll quieter and refined - drives more like a big car than a super mini better more supportive seats but I would like to sit a bit lower than ajustment allows more room in back for pasengers lack of instrument dimming a bad omission - I have fixed blue windscreem film over my dash - make the dash a bit dimmer in the daytime but far better at night.
