Wheel colour what do people think
Chris Roe replied to Jasvrs's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
DAMMMMIT thats what i have so much for the originality i thought i had ;-) i wouldnt say comps (they look like comps anyway) suit black....a decent anthracite might not seem on paper like much of a colour difference but in the flesh it can look so much better... either that or just paint them pink with a green lip.....am i helping? -
i have a mapped bacon lettuce tomato engine 2006 and i can average around 50-60 if i cruise at 60mph without cruise control.... from memory (about three years ago) when i didnt have the map i think i could get 70's but never higher....unless of course you reset the trip when going down a nice long hill.....in that case i have average 120mpg as my best
-
just to confirm i have bought some of the 39mm bulbs listed on here from ebay... they came and i fitted them today quick and easy although a little bit of a squeeze to get in the carriers are you sure that 38mm wouldnt have been better? they work which is handy lol i shall just see for how long might get another set as back up

i usually think sticker bombing looks tacky but this is pretty cool....i think its better on subtle bits like that than on a whole front wing or something like that...
-
ah ok kool well iv done the plugs and i have a diagnostic tool in the way so i guess when royal fail deliver it i shall plug it in and see....the 3rd plug was pretty crispy at the end though so i think it was most probably the issue.... heres hoping thanks for the advice peoplessss...

-
my thoughts exactly....i have a bacon lettuce tomato engine so should sort it all out as well.....does it take the light out itself?
-
nah i need the rail thing that you pull out to get to said plugs... well so i am told dealer said i have the 3rd glow plug failing so i needed a new rail and plugs...sounds fishy so i have just got a set of 4 new ngk's and il see if thats solves the issue...

Disadvantages of an EGR delete?
Chris Roe replied to JakeSVRS's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
lets be honest why the hell would a manufacturer produce a part of the engine that would deliberately shorten its life... and if its shortening the life well i must have the best engine in the world beacuse i have had an EGR fully functioning alongside a perfectly well performing engine for over 130,000 miles.. -
legal?
-
ok so i need a new glow plug rail a stealer gave me a price of 180 quid....yet i did a shop around and found one for 30 quid am i mad....is it really that expensive or that cheap? anyone have any part numbers for a 56 plate fabia vrs BLT engine

I think i have come to that horrible fork in the road
Chris Roe replied to Chris Roe's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
yeah thats very true...but say i spent three grand on it...what could i buy as a decent car for 3-4 grand... iv already got bilstein suspension and all the bushes done so all i was thinking of going for was the 312mm set up...clutch intercooler and turbo prehaps -
I think i have come to that horrible fork in the road
Chris Roe replied to Chris Roe's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
yeah maybe your right...i mean i dont see what is worth paying out for next as a decent step up anyway when this car on my drive is free to drive (except usual running costs) -
so my vrs has been in my ownership for three years...it now owes me nothing...no finance or anything at all I love the little smokey b@st@rd but i want to move up in terms of power.... question is...have i missed the boat on this one...my car has been well looked after but has done 134,000 miles. Is it to late to play with turbos and clutches and all that jazz...is that engine just to old?
-
i couldnt seem to find it i searched but it appeared to be a bit vague with my results
-
would it just be a 9n motor and a 9n arm and blade? or are other parts needed

Chris Roe replied to Chris Roe's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
i was under the impression the hybrids were about 800 anyway... -
if i was to get hold of a standard kkk does anyone have any idea how much someone would charge for it to be rebuilt/hybrid'd
-
ok thanks...it is purely a cosmetic issue as its still mechanically functioning...wierd that the haynes manual states a simple bolt off bolt on job thank you for quick replies!! i did use the search but i couldnt find anything origianlly...i must have used crap search terms obviously lol
