  1. Now you have got me thinking, I will shop around for the Adventure insurance, as you said I may be paying a bit too much, a 170 4x4 does cost quite a bit more than my Urban!
  2. Truthseeker, I haven't misinformed the insurance co, I have taken their advice. It is correctly insured as an Urban as it should be, they said they would note the increase in power and then charged me the same premium as a 170 4x4. As I had it done from new I don't know if this was very much more cost than the standard one would have been, but it's just over £300 per year so I thought this was very competitive!
  3. I should also say thay the main dealer i bought my urban from recommended amd to me! They have used them for demonstrators and they cant tell anything has been changed when they plug it into their service / fault computer.
  4. The remap was done at amd, i left the car with them for the day. They said it could have had more power but it would have then started lo loose mpg. As i do a lot of miles it wasn't worth it, i just wanted a smoother drive and more mpg. The insurace didnt go up as i got it done as soon as i collected the car, they said it was the same as the 170 so insured it as that! Not sure why you would want to upgrade the brakes as the car still weighs the same etc, so will still only ever need to stop from 70mph!! Cant wait for the Adventure now, only a few days to wait.
  5. The remap made it so nice to drive, it pulls right from 40 in 5th and the mpg took a huge jump too!
  6. I've had my urban for 18 months now and have done 38000 in her! Since I joined a search and rescue dog team earlier in the year, the 2wd has got me almost stuck in a couple of situations. So it was time for an upgrade to a 4x4, so popped into the dealer yesterday and am now collecting my shiny new adventure next week!! I added the wheel arch extensions so it will look just like my urban which I just love! I had the 110 remapped up to 176 bhp and this has given me an average mpg of 54, so think i will do the same on the Adventrue as it has 4 wheels to drive rather than 2! Can't wait!!
  7. Dog-killing motorcyclist sought When: 2012-08-16 13:30:00 -0700 Where: Aldershot, Hampshire UK Details: A motorcyclist in Hampshire, UK, deliberately rode into a dog on leash while the dog was walking with her owner in a popular walking area. As result, a 10-year-old German Shepherd named Zena was killed. The RSPCA is calling the incident an "unbelievable act of cruelty" and is now seeking the public's help in locating the motorcyclist. authorities seek motor biker who killed a dog on purpose Zena and her owner were walking on the heathland in Aldershot, Hampshire in an area known locally as Caesar's Camp, when a man appeared in the distance on a motor cross bike. The owner, who does not wish to be named, said the rider sped towards them and purposefully crashed into Zena. The resulting impact threw her 25 feet. She had multiple injuries and her heart stopped a few minutes later. Zena's owner, who lives in Farnham, Surrey, said: "It was a nice day and we were in full view with lots of space around us but the man on the bike seemed to stop, look right at me and then he speeded up to around 60 miles per hour and headed flat out towards us - I honestly thought I was going to die but instead he hit my beautiful dog." Zena's owner said that the man carried on riding his bike around the area as his dog lay dying. "When I shouted that my dog was dead and then got my camera out to take a picture of the man, he eventually rode off." Zena was deliberately killed by a motor cross cyclist in AldershotZena's owner said it was no doubt it was a deliberate act, given that the motorcyclist saw them and even tried to intimidate him by driving full speed directly at him. The man has had Zena since she was 11-months old and is devasted by the incident. He said, "I cannot even imagine what would cause anyone to behave in such a way and I am stunned, I have lost my companion and my friend, she was such a lovely dog." Zena's owner immediately went to Hampshire and Surrey police and the RSPCA. The photo he took is now being circulated in the hopes someone will come forward to identify the perpetrator. The RSPCA said the bike is a KTM EXC/Super Moto, which is a road legal bike fitted with lights and indicators. It is believed the man on the bike is a younger person by his frame and the way he was dressed. The incident occurred around 1:30pm on August 16, 2012. Anyone with information on the man on the motorbike, or has information about this incident, is urged to contact the Ministry of Defence Police, Hampshire Police or the RSPCA at 0300 123 8018 and leave a message for inspector England, who is investigating. Calls will be held in confidence. Under the Animal Welfare Act in Britain, anyone found guilty of causing deliberate suffering to an animal can face up to six months in prison and/or a £20,000 fine.
  8. I bought one the day I got my new Urban too, takes 5 mins to fit, but as others have said it's pretty useless as none of mine or my wifes sunnies fit in it so they end up in the big storage box on the top of the dash!
  9. I do quite a few miles in my Yeti so went for the new 110bhp 2.0 diesel 2wd Urban, then had it re-maped upto 160bhp! She's 1 month old and has done almost 3000 miles. She now does between 58 and 65mpg on my 56 mile round trip to work. This is around half fast A roads at around 70mph and smaller A & B roads at 30-50mph so I get a good return. On longer runs at 80mph on motorways, I only get around 48-50mpg. This would be loads more if I had a 6th gear rather than just 5, but I suppose the standard 110bhp Urban didn't have the power for 6?
  10. Freshacre, how can you call this little beauty a "a rat on a string"?
  11. It's a Hungarian Vizsla, a gun dog breed.
  12. Hi, does anyone use the Skoda dog guard and boot liner in their Yeti? I am thinking about getting a Vizsla puppy and want to keep her safe in the back of my Yeti Urban, any other suggestions?
  13. How much is an official dog guard? I will need one shortly and will take it off your hands for a good price!
  14. That looks just like my new Urban, love it to bits already!!
