  1. Would be very interested to hear when you get any instructions - we got our Citigo last week and today got the Android app and have been trying to get it working. If this is an improvement I don't know how anyone coped with the PID! As mentioned the navigation app seems to be the silent version. To download any map I wanted wifi as it takes ages, BUT the app also needed to be connected to the car otherwise it wouldn't function - so park car as near as possible to house and sit in car for 12 minutes while the UK map downloaded - and that is with good download speeds on usual use on the home computer. fibre etc!! Slow and not intuitive is my first impression.
  2. This is the back of the main beam bulb and this is the low beam bulb Sorry about the quality - not easy getting the phone in there to take them -!
  3. For the main beam units there look like two, the low beam I can't see properly as it is set back and tight for space, I can see one but there may be more. Makes what would be tight job of unclipping an H4 fitting and replacing the bulb into something else!! When I get a chance I will get out there with a mirror and try and take some pictures!
  4. Picked up our new Citigo on Friday - was told just before picking it up that 'it's got the new 2017 spec' and 'I quite like it!' Have to have a big think and then have discussions - we ordered an SE L and specced it up with some of the packs - so to see that some of the packs we paid extra for now seem to be included in the new spec is slightly irking! MrsVivsOH posted - Update - looks like the changes applied from 22/8/16 factory build to the SE L include as standard:- - an updated radio with bigger screen, SD card (CD player gone) and 6 speakers - phone holder and FOC TomTom app (PID gone) - USB port - new style 15" wheels - rear parking sensors - umbrella stored under passenger seat - LED DRL in headlight pod - Darkened rear light lenses - New gear knob - Climate control We paid extra for more speakers and for rear parking sensors. No PID, but a funky phone holder. No mention of a free TomTom app. Yet we do not have climate control, I'm not sure about the rear light lenses as I have nothing to compare with! The new headlamp set up has separate low and main beam modules, so no longer can you change the 'standard' twin filament H4 bulb to upgrade the headlamp performance. I tried taking the rubber backs off to see what the new bulbs are, but whatever they are appear to be 'star' screwed in - not very friendly!!
  5. For what it's worth, the new model Citigo now comes with the interior light unit shown in CTGO's link, above. - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attachments/diy-do-yourself/1222680d1395503370-vw-polo-diy-upgrading-cabin-light-headlight-switch-installing-footwell-lights-6q0-947-105h.jpg
  6. Just got our brand new one. Yes DRLs and the sidelights are LEDs at the bottom of the headlamp units, Indicator repeaters are still on the wing side, not in/on wing mirrors. Headlamp is different, now separate low beam (outboard) and high beam (inboard) so no longer an H4 twin filament bulb. Whatever the new bulb types are is a secret at the moment - no data in printed manual and taking off the rubber backs under the bonnet just reveals something 'star' screwed in - so not going to be able to upgrade to brighter bulbs easily!! No CD slot, but an aux in and a SD card slot for the radio, and no PID - a funky phone clamp is there instead, with a USB power socket up there with it.
  7. Just picked up our brand new Citigo - all new set up, with a string of LED lights at the bottom of the headlamp unit forming the sidelights and daylight running lights. The sad news is that I thought I'd upgrade the standard headlamp bulbs to some better Philips Extreme or Osram Nightbreaker BUT - the low beam and the high beam are now separate units so I do not believe use H4 twin filament bulbs, and even worse, popping the rubber cover off the back to try and see what was fitted I discovered that it looks like whatever they are, are screwed in, with 'star' screws so god knows what they are - no wonder the new printed manual does not give any bulb references and suggest going to a specialist garage to change them!!
  8. Where do you get the true miles covered to work out all these 'true' brim to brim refuel MPG figures. If you are using the mileage on the car speedo please remember that the mileage will not be accurate - the speedo actually over estimates the speed if you compare it to a sat nav readout so the mileage it records is also an overread!! Which would make all the figures quoted be higher than the actual true mpg of the vehicle............
  9. Ah!! I've now got the info at least! Delivery Part Number: 3T0035680 E Hardware Version: H64 Software Version: 4024 Active Area Coverage: Western Europe Active Map Supplier: Navteq Map Version HDD: 7690 So the next bit is working out the most cost effective way of updating - the main dealer is probably not the best option- when I asked if the car had the latest maps on it when it had a service it seemed to throw them completely!! What did you do/recommend?
  10. Sorry to be asking so basic a question! How do I find out which version of Columbus I have in my 1.5 yr old Superb Elegance? Seeing references to which version works and 'bricking' units is worrying for a non-techie type!! How do I find a map update for it? I looked at the Navteq web site - http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/en_GB/-/GBP/View-Promo?&cwt=application/ApplicationFrame_campaign_light&&Page=Skoda-Landing-Page-MIB-Columbus-Instructions&&NewDomainName=Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site& mentioned earlier in this forum, but the instructions on how to find which version they show do not seem to tally with the way my Columbus works!! Any help much appreciated, all I want to do is get the latest maps and firmware onto the unit - and hopefully integrate pocketgps safety camera information POI's into the system too - any thoughts or advice please?!!
  11. Hi mfj - sorry to be so long getting back - damned work getting in the way! Initially it was showing 'Telephone book not available' but then a second or third time I autoconnected it appeared in it's full glory, so big thanks for all the help and advice, I'm a happy Skoda driver again!
