  1. If you have the correct ABS module then it can be turned on via VCDS. The tyre pressure error will show on the instrument cluster light and there's an audible warning. Reset is possible via a maxidot menu option which can be enabled via VCDS. There is a thread on here somewhere detailing the coding necessary. John

Well the extra bit in byte 16 seems to have fixed that problem - the MaxiDot is now happy that it can store tyre pressures and there is a "bong" which might indicate that the reset is successful. Will keep an eye on the measurement blocks in the ABS unit to see what is happening with learning and reset. Many thanks for your help, John

Thanks for the extra info, I will try that on Monday and report back. John.

Tried the coding in Post #14 on my Yeti (2012 CR140 4x4 elegance) and although the coding was accepted by all modules the maxidot reset didn't work. A short time after requesting save tyre pressures a message came up saying "not saved". I think this system is for the TPMS that uses individual sensors on the wheel valves - in VCDS it is identified as TPM II. The ABS unit TPMS can be enabled by setting byte 16, bit 2 and reset with VCDS by accessing group 042 from basic settings. John
  5. I have found the same effect, but discovered that if you keep the vents by the side windows open then operation is much better. The vents can be angled towards the windows to help demisting as well. The best explanation I can find for this behaviour is that there are some air temp sensors in the air flow to these vents and, if closed, the sensors read a higher higher temp due to warmth behind the dashboard (presumably from the engine through the bulkhead). Keeping the vents open means the sensors will accurately monitor the air temp and keep the cabin at the right temperature. John.
  6. The lock unit on my Yeti started making "graunchy" noises on unlocking and to (hopefully) prevent a fuel lock-out I took the unit out for a look-see. It is in fact not a solenoid but a small DC motor and worm gearbox which rotates a lock pin into the push/push mechanism. It will come apart with some effort and mine has responded well to some sympathetic application of moly grease on the moving parts. Still working well after 2 years. Re-assembly is not too bad but some glue will be needed to make up for the broken plastic tabs that are an almost cetrain result of dissasembly. Good luck, John.
  7. At least on the older Yeti the sunroof controller remembers if the roof was tipped (open at the rear) or not when you open it. So if you open and the close the roof it will return to its previous state. Just needs the back edge of the sunroof knob with the little lip on it pressing downwards. John
  8. Interesting that when it does start, at the second attempt, the idle speed is quite low. With a cold engine my TDI would normally idle at about 1000 until it had warmed. Suspect a faulty sensor input into the ECU which will show up with a VCDS or ODB scan. John
  9. And how about the ventilation system going into recirculate mode when reverse gear is selected.
  10. Fuel filter top corrosion could be caused by overspill from the washer filler which is adjacent. Some detergents will happily eat through the zinc plating on this steel plate. John.
  11. I wonder if the dealer quotas affect the delivery times ? I saw at least three more 62 plate Yetis ready to go out of the dealers when I collected mine and I'm sure I wasn't the first to collect so there must have been quite a batch of them for September delivery. Also do you think Skoda may time UK production to coincide with the March and September registrations ? John
  12. Took delivery of my new, blue Yeti yesterday. Seven months wait almost to the day. Only a few miles trundle back from the dealers so far but I am really looking forward to a trip round parts of Yorkshire this weekend. John

<p> I used to have a Range Rover and that had door handles from a Morris Marina. John
