Congratulations Johnny, I have the same engine BKC (BXE), and having Limp mode engine light is on with " Emissions Workshop " error message. I am a newbie I have shown my car to couple of garages and they said my turbo is gone new turbo needed which i am not agree with so want to give this process a try. Can you please give me some directions on how to do it from the top that will be very helpful. Thanks

Hi, My car went to limp mode few days ago its octavia 1.9tdi 105bhp with BKC engine. Power came back once of twice and then again limp mode . Will Lofty79's procedure help and does anyone know how to do this on BKC engine. Many Thanks

Ok update time , Camshaft with timing belt changed all in £710 which i think is not a bad deal as compare to the used engine £900 plus timing belt. Car is running fine engine sound is changed less noisy . i will try to add some pics of the removed parts Shaft has uneven worn and deep scratches don't know why

I think buying new car is the solution . Cause of the failure is the life of the car and its common issue with VAG . According to MARK the engineer i am lucky it lasted that long usually it happened round about 100k

Update Lion Garages said Cam shaft is gone. So changing Cam shaft doing Timing belt it will cost £700 all in. But my mechanic said bottom is weak as well pistons are on there way to go so no point repairing just change the engine which is costing £1300 pounds inclusive . dont know what to do.

Thansk vrsTom, The only thing i changed in the last service i changed the engine oil from comma prolife to quantum longlife (both are 507.00 engine code is BKC) I did have changed the original flywheel to Valeo SMF , could this be the reason ? I am not able able to create new topics . May be because of posting after a long time. Regards

Hey Guys , For some reason i am not able to create new topic. Need your help I have weird knocking noise from the engine took it to garage , scared to know that the engine needs replacing(£1500 use engine) according to the mechanic. Its leaking and apparently Head Wall Seats are gone. I have no idea what they are. Car does start and drive , mileage is 187K . Does any one know a good mechanic near about leicester area. Your input will be very helpful Thanks

I use my Octavia 1.9 110 as taxi and have valeo kit , Now the power is more true and gears conversions are smooth without jerk but the worst part is i have nasty vibration in the car. If my customer have few drink they feel like they are going to through because of the vibration. Sometime little kids do vomit as well becz of this vibration. I have already done 20k on this vibration is the only problem i have and i think its the main problem. I hope this will help.

Well i always had vibration with DMF after changing the gear and increasing the speed but after like say RPM is on 15/20 drive is smooth no vibration at all but with SMF drive is very smooth uptill 40MPH and after that their is very strange vibration like mobile phone vibration i think i am feeling it because i never felt like this before , i can live with it unless i am sure its not going to damage any thing else. Mostly i feel it as if i put my foot down rushing .

Car is fine nothing wrong with it as per the garage , things i have noted - Gear changes is very smooth no jerk at ll - Power transfer is very good - Their is a slight vibration in the cabin which can be ignored once you get used to it. So i am thinking now nothing can be done with this vibration have to live with it

Thanks for your suggestions guys , car is in garage and they are going to check tomorrow , on initial check they completely denied that their is any noise from the engine and according to them its normal but i know its changed well i never heard that before. Fingers crossed i am hoping their is nothing major. Thanks agian

Does that knocking sound has anything to do with injectors ??

Thanks Booke23 and Mike, car is booked for Saturday afternoon for check let see what they say. Does anyone knows any good and cheap garage in Leicester or near Leicester who know about these kind of issues .
