1. Looks like it compares to riding like a boat in the corners!!! Looks like soo much fun!
2. ">http:// ">http://http://s938.photobucket.com/user/civictrev/media/20160518_185635_001_zps5vsauqjb.jpg.html'> Spent a bit of time with the car over the weekend and waxed it properly, by hand. You dont realise how big a car is until you have to do small circles over the whole bloody thing! Washed it twice, dried it with a chamois, waxed with poorboys natty paste wax and rubbed down with a microfibre cloth, finish. Took alot of the swirl marks out from the usual supermarket car washes. Not alot else happening with this, got 4 new Nexen N8000s coming in the post, to get rid of the Fullrun danger tyres that came on the car. Took the tuning box off as i want to get the tyres/brakes/suspension all upgraded before i worry about power.
3. Im from Penicuik originally! Nice to know there are a couple of lads around i can use!
4. Ok so fitted the CRD-t stage 2 tuning box that i got off another member. Little bit fiddly and broke the plug clips but no major issues, car runs just as sweet but the extra power is AMAZING. The below graph is what a Leon CR170 made on the rollers, stage 2 follows the same curve just with higher peak outputs. DTUK reckon i will be around 225bhp and 345lbs/ft, i will get it rollered soon to see what its making, this is just a stop gap so might not. Its on map 2 of 4 on the box, nice and progressive and not very aggressive compared to the others! Also painted my grill at the weekend to de chrome it, not the greatest finish but its been a while since i painted any car parts! Will re do soon!
5. Thanks man! So am i! Had one booked but my house flooded so its cancelled for the time being!
6. Its on my list of things to do. Probably be the next thing i do as i noticed you can get the module and mic pretty cheap. I used to be good at fitting all this stuff so should be fine. Will need to get it coded which shouldnt be an issue!
7. Its something ive been thinking about as im in the car alot! Seen you can get the module and microphone for around £30 then its just coding and fitting! Couple of updates on this - Fitted wind deflectors all round Bought Plastidip to do the front grill when i get some time Bought a DTUK tuning multi channel digital tuning box after seeing it for sale cheap. Had a remap booked in then my attic flooded so had to cancel the remap and sort the house, the tuning box will only be a stop gap. Should comfortably take me to 200-210bhp & 300-310lbs/ft with no trouble at all. For the price i paid for it im delighted. Will get it rolling roaded at some point to see how the map is. The box has 4 maps on it plus +/- to reduce the figures to suit your car.
8. Cars looking good Kenny, made amazing progress since I last seen it up in Stirling 3 years ago!
9. Sure i seen this over on Scottishvag? Hope your ok after your neck injury!!! Do you do detailing homers lol? My cars swirl galore!!
10. Anyone from Edinburgh or surrounding area have vagcom? May be looking to get a few things done!
11. Eddie, how hard are these to fit for someone with a decent knowledge of cars/electrics? cheers
12. This may be a stupid question, but bare with me, what does the 6 pieces consist of? If thats everything im after thats a great deal!
13. Looking to put some bright LEDs into the interior of my Mk2 FL Octy. Anyone got links to the correct canbus ones? 3 in the main unit in the front, boot light, and licence plate ones if possible! Cheers
14. Im going to phone them tomorrow and see what they say Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
15. Thanks for the help mate, much appreciated!
16. Excellent! Is it a decent finish? Same as usual aerosols? Slow and steady with light coats?
17. Welcome to the most uninteresting thread on this... After previously having a Skoda Fabia Vrs as in my Sig, and regretting getting rid of it due to having a baby and needing the space, i dodged between a few cars and finally decided i had the finances and need for the car ive wanted since i first set eyes on one nearly 7 years ago! Decided i wanted a new car on the Monday morning as ive got 2 kids and a focus wasnt big enough, put a deposit down on this before 12 on Monday. Picked this up last week - 62plate Vrs Blackline CR170 30k FDSH Came standard with - Full leather interior, Black wheels Sav Nat/DAB radio and Parking sensors which was brilliant! So traded in my 2015 plate Focus Zetec S and ive been loving this since! Plans? Ive ordered Vrs mats as the women before me took the originals, even though she brought a Kia Venga, i know right? Wind deflectors have been ordered. Chatting to my usual tuning guy at Angel Tuning about a remap to take me over 210bhp and 300lbs/ft or there abouts. Paint the chrome grill and maybe a few other bits and pieces that crop up. As ive never had a Octy or havent had a Skoda in a few years, if theres any nice wee cheap mods i can do, leave a comment! This is a mile muncher as i do 20k a year so wont be doing anything too drastic, just keeping it simple and enjoying it, its great to drive, reasonably quick standard, handles pretty well and stops well! Most of this thread will be maintenance!!
18. Fancy painting the grill on my VRS black as the chrome looks...tacky. I was going to use plastidip as it seems the easiest and cheapest option for someone with limited painting skills. Question is, can i just paint over the chrome or do i need to sand it all etc? Cheers
19. I suppose i should reintroduce myself after having a 3-4 year absence from Skodas. I was on here in 2012-2013 with a Mk1 Fabia Vrs that was remapped, suspension done, braces and arbs etc all done. Loved the car but the wife got pregnant and it was big enough. Floated around several cars like a Jetta, Insignia, Fiesta (I know) and most recently a 2015 plate Focus, but we had our 2nd baby so again, needed something bigger, which brings me on to why im here.. Picked up an 62plate Mk2 Octavia Vrs Blackline yesterday. Lovely car, totally standard, was a middle aged women who had it from new as she liked the colour, 30k on the clock, full skoda service history, new front brakes and 4 new tyres (although they are fullruns...) and for a bargain price, phoned on Monday, put a deposit down and got it yesterday. So far i love it, really nice to drive, feels very solid, very smooth and quiet, road noise is quite bad but i will put that down to the tyres the garage had put on as they are s***e. Sat nav is nice, leather seats are very comfortable and hug you. Dont have many plans for it, get some car mats as the women took the other ones, even though she bought a kia venga, leds all round (Part numbers or point me in the direction of decent led bulbs??), remap, my usual guy angel tuning reckons 215bhp and near 300lbs ft is acheiveable? Upgraded headlamps and maintain it. I do 30k a year so suspension wont be touched. Few other bits and bobs like get head up display showing speed in mph and what not! Any hints or tips, just let me know!
20. Shouldnt have driven it until it stopped. Soon as you realised should have really stopped. Id expect a few bills!
21. Ive used national a couple of times on a car i didnt really care about. Just watched over what they were doing to make sure they were doing it right, made some light conversation so it didnt look suspicious. They done it fine. I only used them down to lack of time and laziness.
22. Was on here a good few years ago when i had a mk1 Fabia VRS, picking up a Mk2 Octavia VRS Blackline on Thursday, from Edinburgh originally, now live in Broxburn
23. Well this has now being swapped, i put a thread up on another forum and got offered a 06 plate Jetta PD 140 SE with 80k miles on the clock! Loving it! Goes, stops and handles better than a standard Fabia and its a joy to drive! Heres to growing up!
