  1. Already checked and double checked with them. Still got my full no claims and settled as a non fault
  2. Ok so just to update. All been paid out now and new car purchased. As a result of this claim though the insurance on my new car doubled, if i get quotes on the price comparison sites prices are similiar however if i un-declare the claim for a quote insurance prices are half. I should never of got out of bed that day.
  3. It wont have an EGR mate its a combi valve. Very different.
  4. Not really tbh mate BUT i had an insignia courtesy car for 2 weeks and that was like a boeing 737, the mondeo seems smaller than the insignia. Suppose if i went straight from my octavia to the mondeo it probably would of. The cabin is alot more roomy when i have all the kids in the car tho but its boot space is smaller than the octavia.
  5. I went for the diesel. Not sure i could justify the £490 a year to tax a petrol. Nice car though plenty of little trick bits on it.
  6. Was offered £1500 for final settlement. Cars a cat c write off. Bought a mondeo ST now
  7. Now dealing with TLSS in terms of final settlement. Rejected the first offer waiting on a second. Anyone dealt with them before? How long does it usually take them? Never been in this situation its all new to me
  8. Well its been confirmed a total loss now was offered £1300 but been cheeky and asked for more. Supplied them with examples of 2003 cars with very similiar mileage so will hopefully get a tiny bit more
  9. Thanks mate hopefully i wont have any issues from now on
  10. Already had them out over it mate and cleared it all up. It shouldnt be an issue now.. But we'll see. In the meantime the car was taken away for inspection yesterday and i was given a nice new ultimate helmet drivers car.. An insignia SRi..
  11. Spoke with them just now, they'll only request the rest of the premium if i cancel the policy which i wont be doing since i need a policy to put a new car on.
  12. I will the toss with them first. The 3rd party admitted fault straight away and also confirmed her fault with hastings. I just dont want to be penalised for something that wasnt my fault. I had planned to keep this car for sometime. Already had it 3 years
  13. I will have to ask them tomorrow how they've done it. I dont fancy been out of pocket. Whatever i get back from the car will be used to buy a new car having just got a house i have no spare funds. All this just comes at a bad time.
  14. Usually yes if your to blame but i'm not. The 3rd party has admitted fault. If this was a hasting VS directline claim i wouldnt have to pay my premium off but because its hastings VS hastings i'm going to lose out even though for an accident that wasnt my fault.
  15. The first payment for this next year hasnt even been taken from my bank yet aswell. Thing is, once ive got the settlement i'll be buying a new car within a few days so i can just put my new one on the policy and carry on. Just a faff
  16. The only other problem i have now is that they want me to pay the rest of my premium out of the settlement fee because its hastings vs hastings and my policy renewed on the day of the bump so thats a full years premium of £540 gone. Think i'll have to kick up a fuss about that.
  17. Balls already rolling luckily. Car will be getting collected this week etc.. Although so far i'm not been filled with much confidence. They also said because its hastings vs hastings i'll have to pay up the rest of my premium in full out of my settlement fee and since the policy renewed on the day of the bump it'll be the full years insurance (£540) which will take a huge chuck from whatever i get. I will have to kick up a fuss when i come to that bridge
  18. Its an option but i have no where really to strip down a car. I'd have to remove any quick selling parts and scrap the car in one day.
