  1. Hi All, The back box on my Rapid has decided it's had enough, I seem to be drawing a blank on getting a replacement. Skoda are looking at £350 mark for a replacement. If I can get hold of one I'll happily fit it myself. Lets face it there's not much else to do during lockdown!! (Covid 19, if you are looking back on this post in years to come!!). Is it the same back box as the 1.6 tdi Fabia & Roomster???? I have tried ATS, awaiting for a return call. Thanks in advance for your help. Paul J
  2. Hi, probably here http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-II/Mats-Carpets/ but look for a weekend when they have discounts, sometimes 20%. Delivery can be quite expensive depending on the weight of what you’ve ordering. I looked at getting a few bits but the delivery was up to £35 so I sourced the items elsewhere. Thanks
  3. Hi Lee, Which one did you buy version A or B? Also are you using Android or Apple IOS? Thanks.
  4. Hello All, A few weeks ago we swapped our 10 plate Yeti 1.2TSI for a 62 plate 2.0TDI 110PS. My wife uses it mainly for short (sub 10 mile journeysj at present. The plan is for me to use it on a daily basis from next summer. So far I’ve used it once a week because I travel around 25 miles to & from work which should help keep the DPF fairly clear. Twice I’ve stopped the car after a reasonably short journey to find it’s in the process of a regen. My question is why don’t (Skoda, VW, Audi, Seat) have a warning light or a message which appears on the MFD which lets you know it’s started the regen process & maybe even how long it’ll take until it’s finished. That way you could carry on driving (assuming you have time) until it’s completed the regen. This would assist the driver & hopefully extend the life of the DPF. I know you can get an app & along with a Bluetooth adapter you can look at the DPF, but the average person won’t want to go to that trouble. Thanks in advance. Paul J
  5. Yep, as everyone above has said. You’ve got to remember not to drop your keys in the boot as you put anything in by mistake. You then shut the boot & your locked out.
  6. Our Yeti has had Nexen N'Priz 4 Season Tyres on for nearly 2 years, they get mixed reviews but I've found them great, still got 5mm tread on the front after 20k, the front outer shoulders are starting to wear (lots of off camber corner where we live!!) 4 Season or Cross Climate tyres all the way. It's just the biting of the bullet to buy 4 tyres at once!
  7. Hi All, Once again thanks for all your replies. The bullet has been bitten & we've bought a 62 plate 2.0tdi SE Plus with 45k on the clock. Everything we wanted apart from no DAB, but I'll get an Alpine EZI DAB system fitted & its white! I need to get over that bit!! But the deal seemed ok, they are fitting 4 new tyres, new cambelt, full service, MOT, mud flaps & 6 months tax + I am swapping my spare wheel kit & rubber mats out of our old Yeti. Collect it in a couple of weeks.
  8. Thanks for the replies so far everyone. We have the 1.6 TDI's in our works Octy's, they are very good but the torque characteristics of the engine seems to be wrong & more akin to a petrol. This is just my opinion & it was this that was pushing me towards the 2.0. Ken, I hadn't thought about the ground clearance but living in the Lake District the extra 25mm could be useful especially when the roads are flooded, which seems to be happening more & more.
  9. Hello All, Its probably been asked before before but my searches have drawn a blank (not sure why). We currently own a 2010 1.2 TSI Yeti & are looking to swap it for a 13/14 plate 1.6 or 2.0 110 TDI. The question is which engine? The car will be doing 60 miles a day mainly motorway. I'm tending to favour the 2.0 but wondered what the great Briskoda people thought. Thanks in advance for any advice. Paul J.
  10. Hi Jamie, The Yeti went in for the Cam Chain replacement this week. Well I had a lovely surprise when I went to pick up the car. I ended up paying for 30% of the labour & Skoda picked up the rest of the labour & the parts required. The labour cost I payed was just short of £150. The car also needed a set of spark plugs to cure a miss fire that had started on the way to the garage. Total cost £204 all in. So my workings out put the labour for the job around £450-£500 + the parts which I think are around £200 (not 100% sure of that though). Hope you get sorted. Cheers.
  11. Hi, don't quote me on it, but I'm sure I've seen a figure of £700-£800 for a replacement cam chain & tensioners if done by a main dealer. No doubt someone on here will have a definitive price. I think Skoda are paying for all the parts & 50% Labour for our Yeti. I might get to see the costings later this week when our car is fixed by the dealer.
  12. I've just ordered 4 x Nexen Npriz 4S All season Tyres for our Yeti, we started fitting All Season Tyres on our works cars & vans, I have been very impressed by there wear rate & general grip (especially in the wet). I will try to do a small review in a month or so.
  13. We are having the same problem with our 10 plate, 50k, 1.2 Yeti. Took it in to Skoda for its service, mentioned the rattle (I knew what the issue was!). They confirmed the problem, spoke with Skoda who are making a good will gesture towards the total cost. We have to pay £275 in total. I'm sort of ok with that because it hasn't quite a full Skoda service history. I'm also led to believe that if I pay towards the work we get a 2 years warranty on the work completed. Totally love the car if is slightly underpowered when you want to make quick progress.
  14. I have the same roof bars as Hatcho above, they work great & they did a Lake District to Devon & back with a tightly packed Thule Motion 200 roofbox on with no problems.
  15. I had one in a similar place & had it repaired. It was a brand new (well 500 miles old) tyre, so really didn't want to fork out for a new tyre. I put it on the back so the cornering forces are not as servere. The tyre has now done 12,000 miles with no problem. But as with most things it's up to you.
