  1. Thanks for that, i agree the rolling road would not give the full picture, and i guess human nature being what it is would be looking for the slightest negative effect the fix would have caused/or not. I sold my VRS Blackline at only 9.000 mls,a brilliant car.Reason being i could see the demise of the diesel/and future de valuation because of goverment decisions here and all over Europe banning/charging them for entering cities, and re setting of tax bands and i think this only the start of the assault on diesel vehicles, this after previous goverments had urged us to buy them. Buying a diesel now unless its for a specific reason ie towing/big mileage is not a good idea, most manufacturers seems to recognise this, and are replacing them with smaller 1200 and1400cc turbo units.
  2. Has anybody got a rolling road test before and after the fix.A donour car should have gone through perphaps aided by briskoda this would prove or disprove the fix
  3. I presume all these cams not hardwired through a power magic pro, and are only plugged into a cig lighter socket only work when the ignition is on ie driven. The point of a cam is to protect when parked ignition off.So to get full use they need a live feed when parked, and a ac ignition feed when driven..
  4. Depends if it's a Amundson+ or a Amundson. Cheapest update for + is about £175 from VW source in Germany it's either v6 or v7 If it's ordinary Amundson somebody on the forum will provide info.
  5. Second letter received 16/12/15 similar to first but.and it a big but. OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO ACHIEVE THE APPLICABLE EMISSION TARGETS WITHOUT AFFECTING ENGINE OUTPUT! FUEL CONSUMPTION OR PERFORMANCE,HOWEVER AS ALL MODEL VARIANTS HAVE TO BE MEASURED FIRST,WE CANNOT GIVE A FINAL CONFIRMATION OF THE RESULTS YET. I read that as saying we have not tested each model of Skoda that needs doing yet,so bring your car in so we can play with it. Nothing to say they have found the answer without any bad effects. This is VAG trying there best to keep the lid on it,why are they not telling us that they are only going to remove cheat mode and leave the map as it was,is this because they have to alter every thing who knows Dark and mushrooms comes to mind.I suspect everybody will hold back until we have a clearer view on this. When I questioned my local dealer service manager, for a honest answer the person said don't bother bringing it in.
  6. All this and I read this morning that NASA sciantists have discovered that the ice is growing not receding, Also India are opening a massive amount of coal fired power stations pushing out tons of crap. What the hell are we bothered about VW cheat device for only the global warming zealots are bothered.I wonder how many of these people drive a vehicle burning fossil fuel?
  7. Completely agree with the above, when are the results from all other car makers to be made public, err probably because the motor industry and governments are trying to keep a lid on it.
  8. Went into dealers today for three year service and Mot service manager informed me that VW have until the end of the month to come up with a fix. Advice given if the fix is detrimental to the car don't bring it in. That's actually not a fix at all is it.its putting the problem back onto the customer. We shall see.
  9. So you will see a difference in the graph on a rolling road print out both before and possibly after even if it's not peak bhp altering the drivability is just as bad,and worthy of complaint surely. The whole point of the checking would think.
  10. Somebody posted it will be hard to prove loss of performance? Why surely a rolling road printout before and after software change will show if there's any difference.?
  11. Note that VW have stated that 1.6 diesels will need new injectors. That the others are just a software fix,so they already know the alterations needed, but I notice that there is no answer still to the obvious up on fuel down on power, or no change to either they could calm there customer base and the market by giving us the info, the only reason I can think of and yes I know it's speculation is that it's will be a negative result,I really hope not as I like my car as I bought it,if I thought it would be treated like a dog and have its nuts cut off I would not have bothered.
  12. Just been on google I see the no win no fee lawyers are on it already offering class action against VW for compensation to all owners who lose power fuel consumption or loss of value of there vehicle,we're will it all end and when, especially if you were ready to sell your car as i WAS.
  13. The ? Is if it doesn't, then what sale of goods act sue, compensation offered err don't think so,buy back err doubt it, I was thinking of paying to have a rolling road print out done before and after, after all that's why I bought a vrs. I would think that most members will feel this way. I suspect a remap after will be the only way to regain the lost power, but there is the bigger question of re sale value especially against another brand so unless the fix means no loss of power and fuel consumption who will want your car at at its pre problem price they will say they can't sell it on. In my opinion which means nowt,I think they should buy back these cars at the value they are now to allow people to move on without loss. Let's be honest if it was anything else we would be getting all our money back. I know it's speculation about power loss and increased fuel consumption to allow the fix. But everything I have read in the last week from so called specialists points to this.
  14. Example what is the difference between a Euro 5 170 cr vrs powertrain and a Euro6 184 cr vrs powertrain, why would it be so difficult to transform the former to the latter.
  15. So a rolling road test and read out before mod, and repeat after, any drop in bhp and it's back to dealer for replacing lost power, this sounds like a nightmare, if you bought the car for its power and fuel consumption as I did. Is sounding like a Shark remap will be needed on all these cars after I guess.
  16. Get one of your mates to use there account for you, presuming you have a mate with a pay pal account.
  17. I have found a factory version of these maps sold by the Navi Team on line from Germany original VW £68 + postage. Has anybody any experience of these maps and what's involved in updating the unit, which is the standard fit in a Blackline. V7 maps the latest £150,still way cheaper than Skoda.
  18. So VW have been cheating with software to reduce the bad emissions during tests and have to recall 500,000 cars in the US alone, that's before they start on Europe and the U.K. There is some talk of re testing all the VW cars and resetting there co2 readings obviously upwards, to put us all in a higher tax bracket I presume. I notice all the VW cars mentioned are using similar engines as Seat Skoda do. I wonder if any of these are to be re tested?
  19. In answer to the post regarding police above the law, officers are firstly drawn from the public good and bad.not to long ago the local paper produced a picture of a police camera van parked fully on the pavement on Blackpool Road trapping speeders, now it's not an offence to park on the pavement, but it is a traffic offence to drive onto it,and unless they had a crane to put it there,it's a case of do as i say not as I do for some. We have a police dog handler parks his marked police vehicle on the pavement every day near us,can you get a pram past no,if your blind tough. At one time you would have been reported the same as the public and taken to court continue and you would have been dismissed. Now you have the answer why driving out there now you have to deal with all sorts of bad drivers with no respect for others,it's true some of the enforcers are as bad. They love using there lights and sirens in the early hours when the roads are empty they seem to get some perverse pleasure from waking everybody up.there used to be guidelines error what are they. Can we turn back the tide, I doubt it nobody seems to give a hoot any more.
  20. Social Services send pic from dash cam remove child problem solved.
  21. Does anybody actually think a course will stop these halfwits using there phones again,a driving ban will do the trick before they actually kill somebody,or themselves.
  22. http://www.gizmag.com/vehicle-mobile-phone-jammer/23220/ Look at this they should be standard fitting.
