  1. Ahh Flying pig... Take it he operates out of Barton?
  2. I installed H & Rs.. 40mm drop.. Testimonials for both are similar.. looking above, the Eibachs look very nice on the 19 inch rims. Comfort and ride is vastly improved over standard on mine.. again similar reports for the Eibach! If your wheels are 18 inch, you may wish to install 20mm spacers to the rear and 10 to the front.
  3. It is indeed. Even with over 150kg of gravel in the boot, It wasn't as low.
  4. As part of my contract hire deal with RRG Skoda, they offered me a lowering option. I delayed the fitting due to me needing my car to move 500kg of gravel for a gardening project . Eventually got round to taking the car to the garage on Thursday. Comfort- vastly more comfortable than standard springs- I was very surprised. Ride height- stance is improved, this is the height that the VRS should have been as standard- not too chavvy . I may well install rear spacers ( 20mm) and 10mm to the front ( in due course) Pictured are 18 inch rims. The salesman's demo car was a Mk3 Octavia VRS with 19 inch extremes, and lowered 40mm.. Looked really well. Before: After: H & R 40mm drop- KBA 91444 28833
  5. Very nice car. They should drop the 280 bhp tsi lump in to the Octavia!
  6. You could fit an inline fuse somewhere ( in protective surroundings)- if you use a vacant fuse slot for the live
  7. RRG in Rochdale.Whilst viewing vehicles, I saw the salesman's demo car was lowered. After seeing his car, standard vrs' looked like they were on stilts, very 4 x 4 like. I was told the kit can be ordered through Skoda ( approved) Eibach.
  8. I was given the mg6 as a hire vehicle. By far the worst vehicle I have driven. I was happy to give it back. Faults galore.
  9. TDI.. The petrol offers weren't as attractive ! Plus I have an increased commute to work now. Took a gamble on this. Was held at Emden as a cancelled order. Taken around a month from ordering.
  10. My car has arrived at the dealers, just awaiting the arrival of Eibach springs before I can collect.
  11. I wouldn't worry. People usually log onto forums to report faults and look for solutions.. This forum only represents a small proportion of vrs owners. The my16 issue.. Again I wouldn't worry- the technology will be upgraded again in due course, akin to buying a smart phone, there are always superior models on the horizon. The ride issue / height- I've ordered Eibachs through Skoda to sort this.
  12. Seems like the Grimsby backlog isn't clearing swiftly.
  13. I was cc'd in to an email from a Skoda Manager.. They are tearing their hair out due to the extreme delivery times from Grimsby to the dealer.some poor souls have been waiting over 30 days. Cars are stuck at Grimsby and not being shifted to the end user. Its so frustrating as I've sold my car, thinking my new Skoda would be here in good time ( as per dealer promise). Now I have to drive around in my mothers spare 52 reg Fiat Punto ..boo
  14. For those wanting their car quicker, ask Skoda to check the stock at Emden( cancelled orders etc) you may find a car with appealing spec / colour. From ordering to delivery should be 3/4 weeks for me.
  15. Looks great. Can't wait for mine t . Arrive
  16. Good stuff.. I've ordered a vrs TDI hatch from available stock today... It'll be interesting to see how swiftly it arrives in UK.
  17. Looking good Greg. I've ordered the hatch today, same colour. I needed a car in a hurry so obtained the in stock list ( quick delivery ). Fortunately there was a metal grey hatch parked up at the docks in Germany, so having looked at the spec I took the plunge. Skoda octavia Vrs TDi ( Metal Grey ) Full heated Leather interior sunset glass black design pack sat nav dealer option- lowered once in UK. This thread, and seeing metal grey in the flesh, pursuaded me to buy. This will be my first sensible car. Looking forward to taking delivery. I'm toying with building a kit car to fill the performance void... that will come next year when the wedding's out of the way. pffft
  18. What did that come in at p/m ( and what deposit) .. Cheers
  19. I'm very close to ordering a VRS hatch.. Was blue all the way for me.. until I stumbled on this thread. I'm going to mull it over tonight... and i'm torn between the petrol and the diesel! Maths / costs etc to be conducted later!. Order will be definitely placed in the morning. After 15 years of hot hatches, i'm finally maturing in my 30s... ish.
  20. Hello, I'm GunnerGibson.. just registered so I can continue to carry out research in to my next vehicle.. ( and then find one in the FS section ) .. I have been a member of numerous car forums , with over a 1000 posts on a few of them.... williamsclio.co.uk vx220.org tt-forum other vag forums Expensive fuel, poor MPG, high tax and a thirst for some huge torque levels have led me to wanting one of 2 vehicles... 1) Fabia VRS SE 2) Octavia VRS ( in the same blue ) I will be immediately looking to tune the vehicle to beyond 250bhp.. How I do that will be researched.. darksidedevelopments look like a decent firm who offer bolt on kits.. but if I can source cheaper then fair enough.. Hopefully will find some like minded forum members who have documented their projects! let the searching begin! Cheers GG
