Three weeks ago that was mine :( Just sold her after 12 years of fun ownership including two jaunts to Czech !

Here are my pics from the day from around the paddock,no use trying to get track shots with a digi compact !

Our stand had a few green skuds on it .........

The only original part on this 120L is the body ! Everything under the skin is 136 Rapid.....engine,5 speed gearbox,wide track front and rear suspension,brakes,dash (i kept the original clocks though.Mods include spax springs and shocks,Grp-B exhaust (Not a replica,but built by the actual exhaust builder from the 130LR days) 195x55x13" tyres and of course Mini-lites.

Yeh,i gave it a blast on Sunday and they handle so well around the country lanes plus cruising on the motorway they are a dream,best in class me thinks ! The best thing is the fuel economy......50+ mpg and that was on a short run,i can live with that ! As for mods,joined Club Touran and found our friends at Awesome have been playing with a Touran......hurry up Sarah and get back off your jollies ! Even though i have this new bus,i still own my fleet of old Skuds so i've not turned my back on the winged arrow !

Have been looking for a while at Touran's due to needing more room for my growing family but cost has always knocked it on the head....until this week ! I am now the proud owner of a 54 plate Touran 1.9TDi SE in met black and those all important extra seats.It was a part ex against a Porsche Boxster ! The guy obviously did not need all those seats anymore...result for me ! Paid trade price for it,got a full valet,still taxed till June 09,MOT till Jan 09,1/4 tank of the go,go juice and it has FSH from main agent ( it will now have full Porsche service history from now on....may as well keep it in the family !) Happy bunny and Mrs Skud is happy,pity Skoda have not had the chance to do such a vehicle or it would have been a Skud badge up front.Now i need to find out what can be done to these cars,being a VW,i guess there is a shed load of stuff out there.

I worked at a Skoda dealer in Bolton and never saw that low mileage one ever ! How has that one been hidden so well when my boss was RWD Skud friendly......along with me of course !!!!!

How are the rear suspension turrets ? A lot of Funs had problems with the rotting.

A club member reverse converted a Mk.2 Felicia with Mk.1 bonnet,headlamps and grile to make a Kit car replica but left the painted Mk.2 bumper on because it looked more rally like. The was a slight gap in the middle but nothing to write home about and you would have to look hard to notice it....so the answer to your questions is yes a later bumper will fit and early car.

You could also mention that the Rapid name was used in the 1930's !!! Skoda won the Monte Carlo rally in 1936 with a Rapid

Does suck a bit ! Pity they don't destroy a few Corsa's or Saxo's with their baseball capped **** head drivers still attached to the steering wheel !

Watching this fella in 1984 on the RAC set the wheels in motion for my Skoda life..... After that it was Skoda only from the first 1986 120L to my latest Favorit Estate (but i still own a Rapid 136 and Snotty,my 1977 "120L")

Steve,it seem's the later Mk-2 Fav's switch was made of cheaper plastics when those pesky VW types took over ! The MK-1 had better switches that never failed but had pants interior's ! You local Skoda dealer should be able to sort you out if they can still be bothered with the old stuff OR try Butts of Bawtry,they still supply loads of older skud stuff.

Thank god my 1991 Skoda Rapid has a similar "VW built" 1.3 engine in it or it would not be so reliable They really are ***** when the use the VW card to try and flog their cars ! I also love their bad spelling.......a major hint at how thick they are or should i say fik !

A few years back there was a Favorit Estate in the museum with those lamps fitted along with a 1500 Skoda lump !

It had the ring of a sport quattro at full chat on the Monte in the 80's.....yum,yum But the GT-3RS did it for me along with it's colour......i'm biased though seeing as i work for a Porsche dealer !

Dead easy on a Felicia (same as a Favorit ) Look under the front of the car and you will see the switch with two wires attached on the gearbox casing.They are only screwed in but make sure you are quick with the new switch or get the car nose up to stop the cat pee smelling oil running out ! You will proberly need to take the undertray off because it will make the job far easier.
