  1. Cheers for the info. on the tool. Just need to find someone who'll ship to the UK. Just been paid so money burning a hole. Adrian
  2. Think I'm gonna make this my first purchase before deciding which remap to go for. Is this the best place to purchase? Also having very limited mechanical experience are there any specialist tools required for fitting? Many thanks.
  3. Possibly thinking of getting this for a Octy Tfsi and was wondering if anyone had any experience of this system. It's basically a toss up between this and Revo. PM me if 'stealth' is needed Many thanks
  4. Have tried to find the Dubsport website but all I can find is a title page from which I can't open any links. Can someone please advise.. Many thanks
  5. Was promised my 08 reg race blue vRS for the first but sitting on my drive is a 57 plate 1.2 Fabia 1 courtesy car. vRS not built yet:(
  6. I'm still awaiting delivery of my new vRS Octavia (petrol) and have been looking at aftermarket exhausts (mainly Milltek) What are peoples experiences of these? Are they worth £400+? Is my money better spent elsewhere? Many thanks in advance.
  7. Is it possible to use any VAG dealership for Skoda servicing? (the nearest to me are SEAT and Volkswagon) and this would save me a 2hr+ round trip Ta.
  8. I'm awaiting delivery of my Octavia and want to stock up on a few bits to keep it looking good so I was wondering which wax etc. would be best for race blue? Also, I want to give it a good clean after I take collection but don't fancy going through the whole 'claying' process, is there a simpler way of getting rid of whatever the dealer has put on it before waxing? I've heard of some stuff called 'detailing spray' but am unsure of what this is. What is recommended for keeping the vRS seats in top condition? With 9 and 7 year olds I think I will need to clean from time to time. Cheers
  9. Hi folks, Been offered Supaguard by my dealer on on new Octy Vrs for £149 but having read other posts regarding the same product on ebay for around the £20 mark I was just wondering whether the 3 year guarantee still applied if I apply the product? To be honest I am just concerned with the interior, with the Vrs seats having light sections and me having two young kids. I intend to wax the exterior on a regular basis. I am thinking that a saving of £120ish for 10 minutes spraying onto seats/carpets may be worth it if the 3 year guarantee still applies. Many thanks
  10. Sorry, should also have said that I went the petrol route.
  11. As stated in my other post I couldn't stretch my finances to include xenons on my newly ordered Octavia (Family trip to South Africa to pay for), so I was wondering if people had any experience of upgrading the headlight bulbs. I noticed on a website that Osram claim to give 90% more "whiter" light. Are these bulbs worth the cost? And if so which are best? Many thanks again Adrian
  12. Well, I finally went ahead today and ordered an estate in race blue with the 2 free upgrades, rear parking sensors, maxidot and darkened rear windows. Couldn't stretch to xenons:(, need the cash for other things. Can't wait until 1st March:D Many thanks to everyone who replied to my post.
  13. Just looking at the Octavia brochure and it quotes "Lead free petrol with RON 95 or lead free petrol with RON 91*. Only lead free petrol RON 98 or lead free petrol with RON 95* for 1.6FSi/115 bhp" (* = lower efficiency when using lower RON petrol). What do the dealers advise the customers?
  14. Just for the record I am about to get shot of a Mazda 5 2.0D and today for the second time in 15,000 miles the DPF light has started flashing. Not a problem according to the handbook, which says when this light illuminates drive above 2,000rpm for at least 20 minutes and it will clear. But both times the light has gone straight to flashing mode which according to the handbook requires a trip to the dealers at almost £150 a time. Bloody eurocrats, bloody emission regulations! Petrol engine next I think.
  15. Slightly off topic but whilst out walking the dog I had a nose on the local garages forecourt for the price of super unleaded, it was £1.16/litre (9 pence a litre more than diesel) I may now reconsider diesel as the best option.
