Hi everyone, My Roomster has got a leak from the driveshaft into gearbox. There is also excessive play on driveshaft. Dealer has quoted over £800 as they think it's driveshaft bearings. Anyone had anything similar? Its only done 44000 miles. Not impressed

Resistor Pack and Door Sensor?
Barijohn replied to Barijohn's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Woo Hoo! Checked wiring, one broken cable, spliced it back together and now I have a door sensor that works Thanks big time. Saved £170, well at least the investigation side of things -
Fan resistor pack and Door Sensor both not working
Barijohn replied to Barijohn's topic in Skoda Roomster (2006-2015)
Thanks Rich. That is exactly what I was looking for. Ordered a replacement pack and will give it a go. Hopefully save me the £150 Skoda wanted to do the same. If they had said £50-75 I'd have left them too it. -
Resistor Pack and Door Sensor?
Barijohn replied to Barijohn's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Cheers guys, I'll give that a go first. -
Sorry for duplicate post guys but there are more of you lovely Fabia drivers and *whispers* the cars are very, very similar inside.... Hi everyone, It's been a while since I've popped in here and my Roomster seems to be having a nervous breakdown for the first time in 4 years. First the drivers side door doesn't know it's open so the light doesn't come on, no buzzer for lights left on and it can lock itself again, which I think is the door module unless anyone has any ideas. Skoda quoted £170 to replace this, but couldn't guarantee this was the problem. Then the fan heater decides to only work on 4, which I am assuming is the resistor pack. Had a look at the forum and this seems to be a "simplish" but fiddly fix. Especially as Skoda garage quoted £150 to fix it. Anyone got a step by step guide and a video? The only concern is both going at very similar times, probably just a coincidence but just checking! Cheers. Bari.

Nope no Maxidot, may look at changing it at some point then. Just surprised you can't disable it yourself really. Thanks for the info though

Oh well that's ok then, still an odd choice to put it there without an option to turn it on or off. I find it more distracting than anything.

Hi everyone, Loving the new car, but one thing is doing my head in! When driving the total miles driven changes to show speed in kmph. Now is this normal, or should it be showing miles. To be perfectly honest I would rather it just showed me the miles driven, instead of any speed. Mind you that is only so I can get excited when it hits 1,000, 10,000, 20,000 etc..... I have RTFM and am either dense and missing something obvious or this is not a user changeable option. As the other half pointed out, no kmph scale on speedo so perhaps set up this way for driving abroad. Cheers.

Have you had a look at this site, it has lots of volunteering opportunities in local communities. http://www.do-it.org.uk/ -

You could always just email the BBC and see if they can put you in touch with them. I am surprised there is nothing in your area though, normally a lot of projects going around. Perhaps a chat with your local Salvation Army branch might put you in touch with local support groups. Good luck, always nice to see someone giving back to the less fortunate -
What's the lowest spec android phone I can use for the Torque App?

I've got an old desire and the G300 is the only phone at this price that is an upgrade, all other budget android phones are same spec or less than the desire. Green stripe is right on storage space, have to mess about to even get a few decent apps on. :( -
