  1. I bought my first Superb 191FSI V6 4x4 DSG, (& first Skoda for that matter), 3 days before I turned 60. Prior to this I've had FordGT V8 performance cars since my early 20s. Still feel much younger at heart, so I wanted something with good performance for touring in Australia, but much easier for me to fit my frame in comfortably. I really do not like FWD cars at all, but these days virtually every manufacturer is going this el cheapo route. I don't like it for touring & I don't like the mechanical stresses of both power & steering being through the same point. I have to admit I do miss real "right foot steering" power slides through tight corners up high mountain passes. The Superb has proved to be a fantastic sports sedan, but time I drove more conservatively. After all, higher & higher traffic fines & speed cameras everywhere is what paid for much of the Sydney olympics. I'll bet that's how London is paying for its great white elephant too.

  3. Ah Skoda owners in Europe UK are so lucky. I suspect the Columbus maps for Australia were approved by Capt. James Cook in 1770! I agree totally with comments about the the cruise control. The fiddley little buttons frustrates me no end. If one is driving in "manual mode" they are impossible. Why CC isn't a dedicated function integrate into MF steering wheel is beyond me.
  4. I have factory fitted one. One tip I'd offer is that if you are thinking of putting one in to house sunglasses, then go to a dealer & find out if your glasses are small enough to fit in the space & still close it. Within my family, only my two year old grandson has sunnys to fit.
  5. Superb Elegance Sedan MY10, 3.6ltrV6 191FSI DSG 4x4, brilliant silver pearl/metallic, black leather trim, electric seats, wood grain, roof & pillars in bone trim colour, BiXenons, auto lights, dimming wipers etc., 18" Themistos including spare, back & side blinds, dark glass, premium bolero, Fiscon+ BT, TomTom GPS, park assist. Basically, It has everything from the Skoda options cupboard, except a sunroof. It is an exSkoda VIP vehicle sold as a demo with only 3400kms on the clock, used by Skoda Australia as VIP car at 2010 UCI Tour Downunder. Fantastic car for cruising in rural Australia.
  6. Hi all, I've found my way here via references on VWWatercooled forums in Australia. I have an MY10 Superb Elegance V6fsi DSG 4x4 in the brilliant silver pearl metallic. I bought as demonstrator from Skoda. The car was brought to Australia as a fully optioned VIP vehicle for UCI's Tour Downunder. (Who knows, maybe Eddie Merckx or Phil Liggot did the 3400kms on the clock before I got it.) I'm retired & my wife & I travel a lot in rural Australia. High speed, open road driving of typically 500kms a stint. A great car, & quite a contrast to the high performance V8 Ford GTs unique to Australia I've driven for many years. From what I can see, Briskoda contains a lot of excellent user experience & information for we downunder, as Skoda only returned to Australian market in mid 2009. The Skoda network in Australia is still thinly spread, so reliability issues mentioned in Briskoda are of great interest. The info on bluetooth/columbus/Bolero particularly helpful right now. Best wishes to all. I look forward to contributing as well as reading.
