  1. I'll be having a look in on this, was interesting last time. Particularly liked an old Rapide which doesn't seem to be on the list this time. I also have an AP Racing 6 pot big brake kit from my Mk5 Golf for sale if anyone is interested talk to Jim or Kate, they'll point you towards me (Ashley)
  2. Can you put it in this thread as a final and fixed list? Cheers.
  3. Good desicion. Don't want this spoiling your morning. Not to mention the possiblity of oil/grease on the rollers!
  4. I would imagine Jim would prefer to know that the joint within the boot is up to the job before any stress is applied. Send Kate a mail and ask but do speak up before the day to save any potential embarassment.
  5. Jonny5ive wanted to run earlier so I took the liberty of editing the list and moving him into my place. Suits me better as well.

  9. Any objections to a friend of mine popping along with a Clio Sport? He's happy to runs later/last.
  10. They normally run from 8-30/9-00 until 12'ish or until they finish everyone's runs.

  12. I wanted to share my experience with powder coated wheels with respect to using my car on track on one occasion. This is not intended to be a discussion thread but purely advisory. Any are welcome to comment but I shall not be posting further once I have shared this. My wheels were prepared by The Wheel Specialist of Fareham in accordance with their warranty conditions and seemingly global policy, so expect the same procedure to have been followed by any branch. The overall finish and appearance of the wheels was completely satisfactory, however, the area of concern in my instance was both the hub face and tapered wheel bolt seats. These had been powder coated fully. During my time on track the coating became sufficiently hot to melt this coating on both the hub face and tapered seat. I have received advice from well respected businesses who have experience in preparing vehicles for track use and they have advised that this could have potentially had serious consequences such as wheels parting company with the vehicle had I persisted in using the vehicle. The trader has resolved my issue by stripping, masking off appropriately and re coating. As I have said, this thread isn't intended to discuss the process of powder coating wheels or indeed the trader but to highlight a potential safety issue. It is for the individual to decide what to do with this info, if anything.
  13. A PD170 with the DPF removed and a map makes about 220bhp and the torque is extreme. Custom Code have the CR170 listed as making 200-210 with around 345lb/ft.
  14. I had a leon FR with the PD170...fast. In gear acceleration was superb. It also had brilliant handling, could chase anything down on B roads, I did drive it hard mind. Not sure I want to try and do that in the Yeti (when it gets here!) Least of all because it's a CR110! As an aside, I've been hearing (and hoping) that the CR110 is actually the same engine as a CR140 but just de-tuned by software. I have a CR110 4x4 on order and plan to investigate a remap. Could be the biggest bargain if you can spend £400+VAT and have ~170bhp as tuners suspect may be the case. Keep an eye on Revo.
  15. I agree, 48 miles is a good commute. If the CR engine is generating less soot then great. Maybe the new fuel system is responsible for that??. I was just reiterating what was once a real problem for them. I'll look forward to not having that issue when it eventually arrives!
  16. The reasons are well written in the small leaflet that the VAG group have had available in their showrooms since at least 2008. I had a 2008 PD170 Leon FR and drive 5 miles to work each way and never had a light on (I drove the car rather than plodded), but many many people have had issues. It's well reported on many forums. The system requires heat to be generated in the exhaust system. The fact the your engine is at normal temperature will alone not keep the DPF clear. It's not a criticism, just a fact that even the VAG group have acknowledged.
  17. Off topic here, but being in these gears at these speeds is the fastest way to turn on a DPF warning light.
  18. Agree with kenfowler3966 - No articulated vehicle is permitted to use lane 3, including cars towing trailers. I have completed an IAM course and passed the test to which I would add that whilst you gain knowledge, other peoples stupidity becomes even more apparent and easier to avoid.
  19. Thank you all! Looks like I'll be going down the steel wheel route...as much as I'd love to put winter tyres on a nice set of alloys!
  20. I'm currently weighing up steel 'vs' alloy for winter tyres and my dealer has yet to come back to me with a price for the trims. Does anybody have any info regarding these and cost? For the wheels I have a figure of £218.96. Thanks.
  21. Thanks guys. They're not dirt cheap, but no more expensive than Spectrum alloys from my dealer. £564 for a set of 4 Momo wheels
  22. I'd be grateful for opinions on these wheels (16") fitted to a Candy white Yeti. I like them, but it's a bit of a gamble. Not ordered them yet, thought I'd see what popular opinion was. Good and bad...let's have them! Thanks.
  23. We've not got ours yet but have asked re servicing and been quoted £95 incl VAT for the first one which is an 'A' service. This is for the same vehicle as yours. Time to shop around or challenge them maybe?
  24. I know exactly what you mean CT17. Currently in conversation with James. I do wonder what the dealer I spoke to is on!?
