can someone tell me the bolt sizes to rep[lace the rivets? I don't want to strip it all off without having all the parts in my hand to replace. -
are sharks just bolted on ? or do they copy your map and then re-load the new one. you shouldn't have ny issues with the map unless there are underlying issues that need dealing with first. I need my turbo replaced or cleaned again. so many variables for the turbo too. refurb, new build, hybrid upgrades etc etc

I have done this EGR removal on my BKD Engine. although time consuming, it is not technically challenging. its all about access rather than hard mechanics. it took me like 4 hours start to finish or less. A bit fiddly with re-inserting the screws into the inlet manifold for the Delete pipe. there are some improvements in the Darkside kit that would help the process, though. also at the same time when you have all the parts stripped off such and MAF airbox etc etc its a good time to clean the VNT / Exhaust section of the turbo with Turbo Clean etc etc. as access is easier. When you remove the cooler completely the Darkside kit gives you the fitting to re-route the coolant so there is no loss.

Blimy that's a lot of work to replace the condenser. My A/C pump is dead anyway, so I need that replacing.

I have the BKD and regular MPG is 48-55 depending on how i'm driving, late 30's to early 40's in town. Mine has done 169K Certainly stay away from super market fuel if you can, as there is a theory that it contains 10% bio, where as Shell, BP, Esso etc etc are less bio based. Bio could be bad for these cars?? so if you stay away from it may be better. If you live near a Costco their premium diesel is great. maybe the injectors need removing and cleaning professionally? Surely some of the Additives may make a difference if you use then on half a tank not a full tank upping the concentration. -
Ha ha ha no only on ignition start up not whilst driving lol

Which led do you have for indicators? And from where?

skodaparts for anything you could possibly need but genuine so pay the price. -
mine do the same. mine are Halfords LED Side Lights. flicker when the canbus checks the system. they are almost bright enough to use without the main beam and you get extra side lighting as well. Are there any that can be used for indicators? and rear lights? both normal red and brakes?

Leaky Fuel Filter on my 140PD
mroberts replied to mroberts's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
just wasn't sure about the pressures involved in the PD fuel lines. sounds like off with the old and on with a less old2nd hand filter housing then. fkg new ones are £235!!!! how ever braided look sexier. -
My fuel filter is leaking from the metal piping coming out of the top. Is this a common problem? if I replace the filter housing, which is dead easy, what should I re-connect the hoses with? jubilee clips? or should I go for some fancy braided fuel hoses?

Well that's a fkg bugger isn't it. Any idea what size rivets? or can I replace with bolts when I re-fit? Also replacement winders don't come with motors, so I have to remove that too and re-fit. Any ideas how to re-fit the motor? -
I have had this issue, and fixed it and have a long term fix also. Firstly if you think its just algae etc, empty the screen bottle. chuck in a few milton tabs, then boiling water(not on a frosty day tho !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! run the pump for both front and rear to flush out all the old fluid and flush through the Milton. leave it for a few hours, then run the pump again until you have enough empty volume to add the washer fluid. then every so often chuck one tablet in when you fill up with fluid. this keeps all the algae and bacteria at bay, especially in the summer when its a big problem. if it still doesn't work pop the pumps out of the tank and clean the filters. If you also buy new nozzles from skodaparts, use a hair drier to warm up the pipes as they are quite brittle, but warming them softens them enough to replace them, it works a treat on any plastic piping.
