How do you find out if a bcm supports xenons? I've got 2010 vrs and would love to do this. Thanks Mark

Hi Simon, I'll be honest and say I can't remember! I do know that I followed the VCDS instructions on theses topic: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/260601-activating-auto-coming-home-leaving-home-lights-a-walkthrough/ http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/170275-rain-light-sensor-and-auto-dim-rear-view-mirror-intall-guide/ Recently I tried to change some of the settings (lights coming on over a certain speed and windscreen tint level), and even though VCDS says the new code has been accepted, when I scanned again it was missing. In the end, I had to have the engine running and then these changes were accepted. As already said, I would check the wiring again to make sure everything is ok. I remember that there was not a lot of space to solder the new connection into the CECM! Mark

Guide: Upgrading Columbus firmware and maps

Cheers guys, will try and burn images on DVD this time rather than CD-R and try again. When I updated first of all with 5274, it came up with an error message after quite sometime that it couldn't update because of radio differences hence why I thought it was to do with DAb. As a side note, I cannot locate 5270 stated in this thread, is it particularly another firmware set? Will try again. Thanks again Mark- 736 replies

Guide: Upgrading Columbus firmware and maps

Hi, I'm having a trouble updating firmware! I had the following:- Part Number: 3T0035680E HW: H61 SW: 3984 MAPS: 8195 I tried to update the firmware to from the links on the first page to 5274. Looking through this thread, its the closet I could find to 5270. This firmware though was for DAB and my unit isn't. This is where everything went wrong. I then downloaded 4120 and tried to install that but I keep on getting error 010302 and the update fails. I have downloaded the RNS recovery software and have sucessfully installed that and am currently trying again with the 4120 update. Has anyone else had similar issues or have i really messed it up? Thanks for any advice you can offer Mark- 736 replies

I made a note on the wall opposite where I park before swapping over from the halogen lights and the light cut off points are the same. As i took the headlights out to fit the HID's is there anything I need to setup? -
Since fitting my London Colour 4300K HID's, I have been flashed a few times now by other motorists, does anyone else have this problem? I have now adjusted the lights onto the lowest setting (3) on the adjustment wheel, what else do people have this set too? I don't have any weight in the car so hopefully that shouldn't be an issue. Looks like I will have to look into full retrofit of Xenons and auto levelling now :p Thanks for any assistance. Mark

Managed to get the final connections made today and the wipers work perfectly. The CH/LH via fog lights seem to be working as well (set to 10 seconds in Maxidot) via the light sensor. It seems that auto lights might not be working although I need to test more tomorrow. It looks like that even in the Auto position they are permanently on. I have tested the sensor and can see the light values changing in VCDS so I'm hopeful its something silly. The magic purple cable on pin 2 was already installed so didn't have to pull another cable in, happy days! I'll have to look closer tomorrow when hopefully it's not so cold! The coding is as this thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/260601-activating-auto-coming-home-leaving-home-lights-a-walkthrough/ Mike, what is the setting for personalisation, is this purely for CH/LH or is it for auto headlights? Thanks, Mark
