  1. Trev2 - In short yes the suspension will definitely feel harder than a Yeti's. I live out in the sticks and the roads are terrible so for me at times it is firm but not tiring. I've done many 3hr plus drives and never finished the journey worn out or wish i had a different car. Trouble is the yeti has a larger profile tyre with smaller wheels so any car with bigger wheels and slimmer profile will feel harder. Both our Fabia's are brilliant with either suspension and wheel combo, my wife drives the white one with sports suspension and 17's and never moaned about the car : ).
  2. We have two Monte Carlo estates (1.2 110) one a 16 plate the other a 17. Both have the larger 17's but the 17 plate has the sports suspension. I drive both daily and from a driving experience you definitely notice the difference, ok it's not a big difference but the sports suspension does make the car feel more planted with less body roll.
  3. Thanks for the comments Leeboy, yeh i did notice that one and will use it to hopefully drive the price down a little or at least get them to top up the warrenty
  4. Hello all, Ive been slightly confused over purchasing a superb sportline estate 2.0tsi or an Octavia VRS 2.0tsi (ive driven a 230VRS Hatch and loved it) but the Superb did look awesome in the showroom. Ive been chatting to various members on here and the Octavia VRS would suit my needs better than the superb. The ideal Octavia VRS spec is - 2.0tsi DSG with Black Pack, Leather Heated seats and privacy glass - £25400 with skodas 0% PCP over 42 months i thought my decision was made for me. Then i discovered this - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609228026238?advertising-location=at_cars&fuel-type=Petrol&make=SKODA&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&body-type=Estate&postcode=dt110rq&keywords=vrs&sort=price-desc&model=OCTAVIA&radius=1500&page=1 The Perfect spec - (i would order a 230 new but they have stopped production) but has done 7500 miles, is cheaper and the 5.9% APR over 42 months brings it to about £50 cheaper a month than the standard VRS new at 0%APR with not as many extras to bring it to 230 spec. I loved the upshift farts/handling everything with the 230, my heart says go with the used 230 estate but do you think its over priced ? Could i haggle seeings its an ex management car with 7.5k or would it be better to go with the new 220 VRS.
  5. Hello all, Looking at 2 estates - Octavia VRS 2.0 TSI & Superb Sportline Estate 2.0TSI. My heart was set on purchasing the octavia until i saw the Sportline and it looks awesome!!! Obviously the Superb is a larger car but do you really notice the extra size and weight when it comes to handling and performance. The car will be driven by my wife 90% of the time but mine to use in a bit more anger early mornings when i drive to work (mix of twisty roads and fast b-roads). I like both but dont want a car that feels like a boat !!!
  6. Ah really!! Ive spoken to a few dealers this week and they haven't mentioned that
  7. Hopefully this weekend i shall be placing an order for a new Octavia Tsi VRS Estate. Would like to go for the 230 VRS but hate those awful wheels, can you ask for standard VRS wheels instead ? Using the configurator and seeing cars on the forum its between candy white and Meteor Grey (primer) but every picture i see has Gemini Anthracite wheels. Does anyone have a VRS estate in Meteor Grey with the Gemini Silver wheels, on the configurator it looks awesome!
  8. Yeh wife wants an auto but i don't want the issues that could come with it. I think we have narrowed it down to these two now - http://www.mayburymotorcompany.co.uk/used-SKODA-OCTAVIA-Kettering-Northamptonshire-919734 http://www.oaklandsautomotive.co.uk/skoda-octavia-vrs-tfsi-in-clevedon-bristol-6093030 Although i am drawn to this for some reason, we live in a very hilly area and the diesel torque could work well - http://www.driftbridge.co.uk/mazda/used-cars/6455277-skoda-octavia-vrs-tdi-cr-dsg/?utm_source=11&utm_medium=3&utm_campaign=CM000306-1 Is there any difference in 2010 and 2012 VRS's ?
  9. Haha thanks for the quick reply. I had a race blue (my 06 plate vrs estate) a while ago and whilst i loved that color i always hated the chrome grill which really stood out against the blue. The silver at least attempts to hide the chrome. Thanks for correcting me regarding the engine, unfortunately there are hardly any local to me to try but im no rush so can wait for the right car. Are the DSG gear boxes problematic or generally ok ?
  10. Hello all, So i have been looking to purchase another VRS estate again, 06/07 plates originally but funds have increased so now searching for 2010-2012 plates. It will be my wifes car and mine to drive with it bit more right foot evenings / weekends. I have searching autotrader and found the following in our budget (10k max) http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609117652758/usedcars?logcode=visc http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609167827746/usedcars?logcode=visc http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201608227026635/usedcars?logcode=visc The car will not do alot of miles, my kids schools are walking distance, local tescos is 20 mins away, so it will only be used for short trips but not everyday. We would all go out as a family on most weekends and i will use it myself to get to work on saturday morning, more spirited drive. (30 miles each way) My question is would i be silly buying a tdi dsg, am i opening myself up to reliability / dpf issues and would i be better sticking with the petrol manual. I ask this as prices are very similar. Thanks James
  11. Hello all, After a loong break from Skodas im back....nearly back. Going to look at this on the weekend - http://www.hindleandallen.co.uk/used-cars/skoda-octavia-2-0-tfsi-vrs-5dr-blackburn-201608237060853?at_source=autotrader&at_medium=desktop&at_campaign=website-visit&_ga=1.164647483.54168089.1446291654 Would like your honest opinions please. James
  12. Thanks for the comments lads. Went to see the car this evening and pleased to say it was very tidy. No real dents or scratches to moan about, the tyres were all very good condition, interior was good condition with no rub marks or creases to the leather. It's up for £5490 and is due a service in June so I'm going to push for £5k including the service. Would that be a good price to pay ?
  13. Hello all i used to have an 06 octy vrs many moons ago but sold that for boring house buisness. We currently have a cheap focus estate for family business but would like to upgrade to something a little nicer. Could i ask your opinions on this one - It has full service history mostly franchise dealership. Its a local mazda dealership selling the car. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201504242893747/radius/1500/page/1/usedcars
  14. It came from my 2005 vrs petrol so the TFSI engine but i do beleive it will also fit the later TSI engines.
  15. As title, no marks anywhere, all fixings included - £50 Collected due to size. Based in Bournemouth
  16. Thanks VRS Mike, its really be looked after so hopefully it will go to a good home.
  17. How do you find the APR map, i have exactly the same car and looking into different maps....revo, apr e.t.c
  18. My thoughts are with you and your family Dave, i dont have kids yet but thinking what your are going through must be terrible. So sorry to hear the news. Good luck with the car, Tsi and K04 is gonna be brilliant!
  19. Does this bring any cell lights on the dash if fitted to a standard car and will it drive ok or does the car need a remap once fitted ?
  20. Took the grill of my Mk2 Octy Vrs and sprayed the chrome surround in blue to match the car, looks MILES better.
