  1. Ordered a new Roomy in mid-September with some custom specifications and was given a 3 month delivery date. Was pleasantly surprised when I was told that my car was at the Skoda compound in Sheerness on 2 November - way ahead of schedule. However, since then the car has failed to appear at the dealership - who seem to have no way of knowing when a car will leave the compound, what transporter it will be on and exactly what day it will turn up. Who would have thought that the last 40 or so miles of my new car's journey from the Czech Republic would be the most difficult!
  2. Skoda "recommended" to me that I have this done at my Roomster's 4 year service, but I declined due to the additional £££s it was already going to add to an expensive service and my car was very low mileage. That was over a year ago and the car has been fine. But it's really a judgment as to what you want to spend money on to avoid potential risks.
  3. I have just ordered a new Roomster under the no VAT deal (1.2 TSI 105ps) having been driving a Roomster 2 1.6 for over 4 years. We looked at most of the other mini MPVs - B-Max, Hyundai ix20, Kia Venga, C3 Picasso etc. We didn't find anything that had as much boot space, cabin space, interior light and drove as well as the Roomster. The closest rival for space and driving position was the Picasso: but it felt a bit van like and Citroen don't have the best reliability record. So it's another few years of Roomster driving for us!
  4. All of the TSi engines in the new Roomsters are turbocharged. The only exception in the whole range is the 'entry level' petrol (1.2 12V 69 ps).
  5. I had the same problem with my parking sensors. Giving a long beep and then nothing. It lasted for a couple of months, then they started working normally again. Skoda could not diagnose any fault. Mysterious. Have more recently been distracted from parking sensor issues by power windows failing to work, But that's another story..........
  6. I've ordered a 105 bhp 1.2 TSI. Just got to wait 3 months for Skoda to build it.................
  7. I've just been quoted £129 by my local Skoda garage for a 'minor service' (5 year old Roomster).
  8. Thanks for the advice. Test drove the 105bhp 1.2 TSI today and seems just as powerful as the old 1.6. Point noted about roof rails only coming as standard on SE plus.
  9. I currently drive a 57 plate 1.6 petrol and am looking at a new roomster. We mainly do short mileage (so diesel not an option) but we do quite often have 4-5 in the car and do a few runs a year with luggage + roof box. Which of the new engines would be best? I've read that the basic 1.2 is underpowered, but does the TSi 86ps do the trick or should I be looking at the 105ps? Advice and views welcome!
