It's all about anticipation and light acceleration. Really wouldn't recommend slipstreaming for the small economy benefit it would bring. Generally people do it behind lorries, so forward vision is massively reduced as is the braking distance you would need to achieve in order to not crash. Quite dangerous IMO

I wouldn't persist in efforts of launching, I would think that it would be very hard wearing on the gearbox.

I wouldn't accept this, it is a fault. My Fabia has done 40,000 miles, 25k with me and the gearbox has never rattled. Ever.

Cheers for the advise, I'll get some ordered along with the arm rest. It seems a bit bizarre that the descriptions for the aforementioned part numbers specifically state they do not fit the vRS. There must be a reason why they state this. I wonder if my insurers will want any more money for this change to the car?!

Quick question, I want to fit mud flaps to my Fabia and have seen that people with the same car. Can anyone who has had mud flaps fitted confirm for me what I need to buy? Now would seen like a good time if the above ones can be fitted because of the 15% discount. Also, anyone managed to get a discount on the OEM arm rest, £135 is a lot of money for a bit of plastic and cloth. It's £90 factory fit and theres still margin in that...

You may have even lent me some money, I had a loan from Zopa Maketplace. IRC it was about 13%, paid it off after 11 months. It was great! Though, now questionable. I had really quite a poor credit rating at the time. My credit rating is now "good" - 850 points with credit expert. Yet I can't borrow from Zopa at the moment, because my credit file isn't good enough! If the market place was still open I probably would have changed cars already! Maybe it's a good thing for me now.
