  1. Well people, we are off in the car with her new prosthetic limb I've had fiited at the local hospital, this might just do the trick. Skoda said they have come accross the before !!! quite a few times in fact. After all this imformation there are only four options; 1/ she goes 2/ she has a session with a shrink ( some have suggested problems in her head?) 3/ the car goes 4/ I get a Jag? (apparently its easy to reach the clutch) think I'll give that one a miss Thanks for your help gadgit.
  2. CFB, you see the point. Most women don't pivot at the heal, they just slide their heel along the carpet to contol the clutch. i'm not saying that this is textbook driving for women, but most small girls just do this because they started with it that way. I drive a tractor quite often, and you are floating over all the pedals all of the time, but you get used to it, as I did, and now don't even think about it. I'll just have to keep her at it, until she picks it up, or sell it...?? Thanks everyone for all your comments, gadgit.
  3. CFB... you have it in a nut shell My wife is only 5' 3'' and size 5 shoe.... i'm not defending her, and I could swap her for a newer model, but giving her half the house and cash would be the most expensive option, so that's out of the question. I'm liking the floor lift idea as the best option, and will try it out. I've not given up yet as I do want to keep the car so much....... I'l let you all know how the raised floor works out. gadgit.
  4. I have a serious problem which may force me to change the car When I bought the car, the salesmen told me the owner had changed the car cos his wife could not get on with it. I took that with a pinch of salt as sales talk, but my wife is really struggling with the clutch and gears. I love the car to bits, but she continues to complain that the clutch pedal is so high, she can't have her heel on the floor and be able to control the release to get the car away. I've checked it out with other cars and it is around 6 inches from the floor, which is considerably higher than most. So, is it possible to drop the pedal box down an inch or so to resolve this problem. The only other way would be to have the DSG version. I'm gutted at this stage as this 2007 car is a minter with 64k on the clock and runs like a dream, with average just over 50mpg...... very impressive car in my opinion. Anyone else have this problem with their 'dearly beloved' Or........ anyone fancy a swap from a DSG to a manual send me an email....... gadgit.
  5. eeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrr it appears someone is using the wrong oil!!!! on their Vrs......... . You just will not get the right oil for a Vrs Tdi for £16................ unless someone knows more than I do?? But, If its being used as a taxi i suspect he's not to bothered ?? gadgit.
  6. Yes unfortunate about the colour, looks nice with the 'BLUE' background which shines through the understated forground colours Great pictures.......................... well done. You could of course have it resprayed to say............................Race Blue gadgit.
  7. One of the great things about your age is that things get cheaper I'm 56 years young. Insurance for a 2007 Vrs Tdi.... Fully comp insurance with the post office is £229...... includes the spouse of course! nice car to drive...........average fuel consumption on the puta says 51.4mpg for the last 400 miles.... and yes I do give it some welly now and again I used to drive an F3 1985 race car a few years ago..... so i guess my really quick days are behind me now gadgit.
