Hi there. First time poster. Picked up my 60 plate VRS last week-end. great to be back in one after having a 61 plate a few years ago. Mine has heated front AND rear leather seats. It's amazing lol. My only gripe however is that the rear parking sensors only seem to work when they feel like it. Is there a common issue to look for first before getting a sparky to check it all over for any faults. just want to save myself a few quid if it is something I can fix relatively easy. I assume these sensors work of the reverse switch? Perhaps a good place to start? TIA

Let me know how you get on. I may also just give it a squirt with contact cleaner if it helps. Plenty of the stuff at work.

Thanks for that eccleshill. With my frumpy fingers i can assure you i will wreck that switch hahahaha. Will get the dealers to sort it as i still have warranty on the car. Might ask them for the old stalk if they replace it and practice dismantling it.

So i picked the VRS up on Saturday. So happy with it but noticed on the motorway the cruise control was not working. Kept trying but nothing. Later on cruising at 30MPH near home i tried again and it work. Disengaged and tried again and nothing. Is this a known issue, is it as simple as just replacing the stalk for the cruise control? Also noticed the gear change indicator also works when it feels like. Will indicate gear changes till about thisd gear then dissapear of the MFD until i have stopped and pulled away in first again, then indicates till second or fourth and dissapears again.

Yup, confirmed with dealer NOT a limited edition. Apparently all information is obtained from the DVLA so how the hell Skoda insurance got that is beyond me hahaha

61 plate petrol but as far as i am aware from the little info i have found they come with leather seats as standard? Mine has the cloth seats. Is there any way to confirm this? I think she may have made a mistake possibly.

So I rung up SKODA insurance today to arrange my free 7 day cover. When I gave the very helpfull lady my registration number she said it was an Octavia VRS Limited Edition. What does that mean and could she have made a mistake?

Maybe it's not the columbus one then. There are only 6 buttons on it and no NAV/MAP buttons......

Can any one confirm which is the correct unit for this model? I am looking to fit a unit to my VRS when i collect it as it only has the columbus unit. Any help or flea bay links greatly appreciated.

So i smashed out a great deal today at letchworth skoda. Free MOT, two free services and 12 month extended warranty on a black 61 plate VRS! Taken a PCP deal as i will px in three years time and get something newer. Over the moon!

Agree. If i get the 61 plate, it still has warranty till December this year, will try and get an extended warranty added on top of that. the missus is really happy about since she is from the CZ lol. Getting excited!!!

Looking at a 61 plate on Saturday in black. Wanted blue but the pvt seller I was talkig to has gone silent. Black is good too though so I am looking forward to joining the SKODA owners list. Have been a big SEAT fan and still am but this is going to be my "sensible" car........
