Like everyone else I'm frustrated with the lack of any clarity of what MY16 brings to the Octavia in particular the MIB units. My VRS is being built next week and I have the free Amundsen. I saw the order form a few weeks ago and it said my car would be MY16, so I assumed it would be a MIB2 unit with the updated screen. I had hoped this would have all been sorted out by now, but I guess we may all have to wait until the MY16 cars are delivered. I also had a trawl through some of the international sites and noticed a few quirks as well. On the Spanish site you can order the Amundsen for 200-ish Euros, but it comes with out the maps SD card - which is extra. The Latvian brochure clearly shows (and describes in English) MIB2 units. The Amundsen and Boleros have 6.5" screens

Not a confirmed date, but I ordered a VRS estate on week 16 and got a provisional build week of 24. I've had an updated order detail sheet today (as I queried the black roof rails/black pack), which says "order status: A-assigned" and "original date: 10/6/15" I assume (maybe incorrectly) that the build is still wk 24 or it would have said something different? It does say MY16 under order characteristics, which I was happy about though!

My VRS estate is due to be built week 24 and one thing I noticed with the updated UK configurator, is that the black roof rails are no longer included in the black pack. They are now a separate £60 item. The black pack has been reduced in price accordingly, but I was concerned it might get missed off with the switch from my15/my16. So it might be worth checking if you want them? Anyhoo my dealer has confirmed today they are on my build and the updated order they sent me confirms my16 too. It Would be a real bonus to get smart link for free

Ordered a VRS estate on 13th of April with free sat nav. Informed today build is w/c 8th June. So that should be wk 24 and my16/mib2. I've noted a few scheduled dates being brought forward. So I'm hoping it doesn't change too much!

Yes, the battery light had come on just before the temp shot up. It's much simpler with hindsight, but at the time I thought i had overloaded the 'new' battery, with lights, rear screen, heated mirrors etc whilst stuck in stationary traffic. I'd then become somewhat fixated on the temp guage. Anyhoo, went for a bit of a spin yesterday and all seems fine. I checked the oil filler cap for signs of any white gunk but all was fine. To be honest I've not got much of an idea what else I can look out for. I would guess a compression test would be required to check the head gasket properly?

Thanks for all the advice, but It's back! The alternator belt had snapped which also feeds the water pump, hence no cooling. The broken belt took out a pulley guide too. Its had the once over and everything else was fine but i suppose only time will tell if there was any internal damage. I'm just happy to have it back. Hopefully won't need to go back to the dealer until service time now.

Thanks guys i'm hoping it is something simple and more importantly that it hasnt damaged anything. Sadly I'm old enough to remember the heater trick which i tried en route. Oddly i couldn't get any heat out of the fan though. Its possible i had the wrong setting on, but i doubt it as i had similar dual climate in my golf until yesterday! Anyhoo, looking forward to the call from the garage in the morning.

What a difference a day makes. After the joy yesterday evening picking up my lovely white urban, today I have the trauma of nursing it back to the dealer after it overheated on a 5 mile commute in rushour traffic. I know these things can happen but it wasn't really what I wanted with my first foray in skoda ownership. Anyone else had similar issues? Or convince me all will be well? Maybe I should have chosen a better username! T G

First post so be kind! I managed to get £1k discount (and some mats!) from my local dealer in Leeds on Fri. After a bit of too & fro they matched the best loan deal i could get, so that i got the free servicing. However, whilst the salesman was away speaking to the manager i was browsing on my phone and found an advert from lookers in Stockport, with £1k off an urban. DM keiths matched it. For info i was px-ing another vehicle, but the price was already fair before i found the Lookers deal. My 1.2 is on the boat and should be ready in 2 weeks. Ps thanks to all on this forum. I have learned a lot in a week.
