Recently sold my VRS 1.4 tsi to We Buy Any Car. I would love to hear from the new owner as I have a whole load of paperwork/information on the car which they can gladly have because WBAC weren't interested in any of it. A 2010 model with only 29600 miles on the clock and one of the best out there. It was quite a sad day to finally let it go after 11 years made even worse by the total lack of interest shown by the guy at WBAC. So if you have it or know who does, then please let me know.

I would definitely buy another Skoda as my Fabia VRS is one of the best cars I have ever owned. The only problem at the moment is that Skoda are not selling a MK3 Fabia VRS.

I have the MySkoda app on an Android tablet and used it for my Fabia which I keep in Spain. It recognised my VIN number and loaded all the service information accordingly. However, when I loaded the same app on my ipad for my Fabia VRS although it recognised the VIN, there was no service data option present. A short while ago the app failed to load and wouldn't work, so I deleted it. The MySkoda app is still in the app store though.

forge recirculation valve just stopped working :(

I fitted the GFB DV+ last week to my 2010 CAVE VRS. Not quite as simple an installation as shown in the GFB You tube video on the Polo. The bottom Torx screw is somewhat tricky to remove and the fit with the pipework on the VRS is a lot tighter. Still took less than an hour though and am pleased with the result. The engine seems more eager to respond because the DV+ holds the boost. However, I do now have the fault code which GFB mentioned in the instructions. In all, this is a very nice tidy "upgrade" for not a lot of money which you can actually fit yourself. -
What annoys you most on the Fabia?
Fossy replied to m collinson's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I'm not saying my VRS is perfect, but I have had it for more than 5 years and I don't plan on selling it yet. My biggest gripe is the fact that not enough other cars want to race me.... They just see a Skoda and think it's not worth the effort. Those that do get a big shock though.... -
No one will custom map the vrs
Fossy replied to thomasaspin's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I had a stage 1 custom remap on my 2010 CAVE over 3 years ago. I'm at 210bhp and I have never had any of the engine mods done by Skoda. The car has always performed exceptionally well and yes I do use a bit of oil but I am happy to do that for the excitement and enjoyment I get from the VRS. The company that carried out the work was Performance Torque (p-torque.co.uk) in Wombourne, West Midlands. I don't do a lot of miles these days - my VRS is now 6 years old and only at 28000 miles, but no problems yet (touch wood and fingers crossed) as I hope to keep it for a while longer. Just bought a GFB DV+ and will be fitting it later this week. -
Fabia vRS performance with Bluespark tuning box
Fossy replied to FlexibleMouse's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I have a 2010 CAVE with stage 1 remap (211bhp) and using an APP for IOS called Dynolicious have done a couple of timed runs. Best times - 0-60 - 6.05secs 0-90 - 11.98secs (not on a public highway....) This was in auto (S) TC on and no holding on the brakes, just flooring it from standstill. What are you using for the timing? The Dynolicious APP is great value and really good. -
Fitted mine at home with no problems at all. Easy DIY job and no fouling on the (standard) exhaust. Gives a better bite at the front, better turn in and reduced understeer. Don't forget to check the tightness of the bolts after 100 miles when you have fitted one though.

Mk2 Fabia vrs rolling road, post your graphs

Custom remap which was done a few years back. Great result which brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. Fabia ReMap.pdf -
I have a "problem" with my rear disks. If you look at the photo attached you can see that there is a large lip around the outside of the disk. The lip is approx. 20% of the outer portion of the disk. Is my car unique, or is this a common thing on the VRS? I have had the car for 4 years ( bought second hand at 15 months old). Obviously the car has been main dealer serviced but they have never commented on the disks. Thoughts and comments please...

I'm interested in having a meet/gathering, but not really up for going out to dinner. Wouldn't mind maybe popping in for a drink and a chat though.

I also have a creak/rattle from the rear seats of my VRS. Asked the dealer to check it out, but they couldn't find a solution. Not too bad, just a little bit irritating. Would be interested if anyone does know the cause/remedy.

Fabia Mk2 vRS Meet - Santa Pod Sat 16th May 2015
Fossy replied to Furbytom's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Sounds like a great idea. I would certainly be interested if we can get the date and location agreed. Some sort of "Sprint" event is also something I would love to do given the facilities can be arranged. Might need someone to supply and do all the oil top ups between runs though...... -
Just purchased 11 plate fabia vrs, poor mpg, is this normal.
Fossy replied to Baz192's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I average 42mpg (checked when filling up) and I drive 15 miles each way to work and back on mostly A roads. I do redline it sometimes when someone needs to be shown what there trying to mess with, but mostly I am doing 50-60mph on the open roads with a bit of slower driving at either end of the journey. Mine is a 2010 model with 18000 miles on the clock and Sainsburys Super Unleaded in the tank. -
age of the person who drives a fabia vrs or monte carlo
Fossy replied to curs's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I'm 59 and loving my Fabia VRS. Insurance - £300 -
Hi Mark, I have had mine remapped, details as below - Year of reg - 2010 Engine Mods carried out - stage 1 remap (P-Torque) Gains (if known) - Now 211bhp and 219 lb/ft What the car has been used for - daily driver Issues before Mods (if any) - none Issues after Mods (if any) - none Mileage pre-tune - 9000 Mileage post-tune - 8000 I bought mine secondhand (12 months old). It used to have a high (ish) oil consumption ( 500ml per 1000 miles), but after the second annual service, that dropped off to now almost negligible in the last 6 months/4000 miles. I use the car every day for commuting to and from work (approx. 15 mile round trip) and do regularly give it full throttle acceleration maxing out in the lower gears. Love the car and the surprise I give the Audi/BMW/Porsche drivers when they TRY to overtake me...

Paddle extensions fitted (at last)
Fossy replied to dazz600's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I've been looking to fit these myself and wondered if they worked okay. Let us know how they perform and where you got yours from. Were they advertised as specifically for the Fabia, or VAG models in general? -
My VRS is two and a half years old and I have had it for 18 months. Milage is now 16,500, the engine is still as sweet as ever and there are no DSG problems evident. However I do have that iritating "Creak" from the rear of the car. I mentioned it to my dealer and they adjusted the tailgate but that has not cured it. It's difficult to actually pinpoint the source of the noise, but mine seems to come from the passenger side. Having fitted a RARB I know that there is nothing loose around the rear suspension, so my only thought would be that it is the tailgate.

My A/C awitches on all by itself when I change the temperature control from hot to cold (or vice versa). Asked my local dealer about it, but they didn't have an answer for me as to whether it is normal or not. I guess from the above posts that it is just another little Fabia quirk.
