  1. Good luck with finding a tyre to suit RWD these days, but Yoko, Bridge and Pirelli have the firmest sidewalls...
  2. I bet it is right, Yokohama's semi-slick dry track tyre scored an A in the wet brake test, put either into a curved test in wet conditions and life could get interesting through. . .
  3. According to data I have they are in position No. 14 for 2012...
  4. If your happy with Michelin then stick with them, nothing wrong with them, far far worse out there, but for me I prefer a firmer sidewall which can provide less imbalance issues over the lifespan of the tyre together with providing slightly more feel/feeback, on the other hand it produces slightly more noise, each to there own, I think the Goodyear Eagle F1, Dunlop TT or RT are better value at present, but doubt they would cover the same millage, but are be more progressive on the limit unlike Mich. PS2's habit of just snapping out unexpectedly. As i'm not to bothered about wear I always purchase Yokohama and like yourself have covered similar millage on Yoko without any issue's. .
  5. The OP was considering Westlake SV308 as above link, which are only W rated whereas the KU39/SZ90 are both Y rated and will outperform the Westlake's, and yes they are based on price which I consider is main factor to the OP, for the money the are both reasonable, KU39's will grip better but wear quicker. For me I just can't recommend Michelin as IMO there are better tyre's out there for less £ with less issue's...
  6. I think you'd be better off with Kumho's KU39 or Firestone's SZ90, both around £80
  7. Are you sure they are not a China company belonging to the Giti Group???
  8. That depends on what brand of tyre you have fitted, softer compounds perform better in colder weather. .
  9. Depends on the compound, but yes Mich are a hard compound...
  10. The A048 is also A rated in the wet stopping test, good these new labels, they really prove alot
  11. You could be right, but been 'v' tread they can aquaplane before other designs, it does seem that Toyo have also noticed this as they no longer produce the T1R, so I'm told. .
  12. Me neither, but not just the T1R any 'v' tread pattern. .
  13. Shop around, your find them, as for millage, they may last 18k depending on how treated, the uni's will cover more miles. The F1's are a softer compound than uni's but will out perform on grip level's & feedback, depends what you want, know what I value. .
  14. Sorry to say but makes the F1's look excellent value. .
  15. yes, had 's' drives and about to purchase 4 more, better than Kumho for grip but the Hankooks may last longer, for me I'd go Yokohama all day long.
  16. When the Pirelli P600 was produced it was also much better than other, then Yokohama's A008 came along mid 80's and was streets ahead other for years. Dunlop have improved the most over recent years. .
  17. If your happy with the Brigestone's then why not stick with them, their RE050 or new S001 will provide more grip than the ER300. .
  18. What did the tyre shop say when you returned them?
  19. The noise test is an external test so the results may not necessarily mean you are purchasing the best tyres for noise for your passengers. The wet brake test is nothing to do with aquaplaning and is carried out in a straight line, because of which they provide false results as a Yokohama's dry track tyre is A rated in this test, but it would not be much use on a twisty road. Yokohama have rated there winter tyres. Added to all that some manufactures are not been quite so honest with the results
  20. Most tyres have more tread towards the middle of the tyre compared to the edges, but thats not to say it'll perform any better. In the wet brake test I'm sure you will all be able to see the best performers, for me I'd not buy any of the above as they all struggle to dissipate water compared to other tread block designs. .
  21. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical 2 or Kumho KU39 for a cheaper purchase price, however, the Goodyears will cost less/mile for the duration of its life. .
  22. Goodyear Dunlop the same company, but for me at present I'd pick the Dunlop over the Goodyear version, two of the best all rounders at the moment. .
  23. When there is no stock left of the 452 the 453 will slowly come down in price. .
  24. I agree the up's front & rear just do not look right, for me the Citygo has the best inside but the Nintendo has the edge outside. .
