  1. Thanks for all the reply's. You guys are correct, I was supposed to write BAP and for some odd reason I wrote DAP. All these abbreviations gets me confused. I did reboot the unit when I coded it. I ticked navigation in the installation list in the Can gateway module. Then went to long coding to enable BAP. Rebooted the unit and made sure that directions were displayed on the maxi-dot. All worked fine expect for the volume scroll. We can still try rebooting it though. I need to rescan my friends car as I don't have the autoscan saved on my computer. I will post it once I have it.
  2. Not sure if this should be in the ICE section, but let's give it a go. I installed my old Skoda Columbus to my friends 2011 Fabia 1.2TSI DSG. Installation itself went fine and I coded the navigation unit to Can gateway. I also coded the unit to use DAB, so it will send the navigational directions to maxi-dot. Did an autoscan after that and VCDS showed that we had no fault codes. The problem we are having at the moment is with the steering wheel controls, more precisely, the volume control scroll. If we push down on the scroll, it mutes the unit as it did with the previous unit, but if we try to change the volume level by scrolling up and down, the volume level remains unchanged. I think this is a coding issue, but I don't know where to start. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks.
  3. Ok, thanks again Mike! So the only alternative is to retrofit MFSW to get it working?
  4. I'll borrow this thread again. I have another issues and I was wondering if there's a fix for it. So, I have a 2007 pre-fl Octavia RS and I have retrofitted Columbus and Maxidot. I don't have Multifunction steering wheel. Part number for the columbus unit is: 3T0 035 680 B HW 11 SW 4120 When installing the columbus I updated my can gateway to a newer version 1K0 907 530 L, so I wouldn't have the battery drainage issue. Coded the columbus to gateway as well so it will show the data on the maxidot. I applied Josi's fix for Skoda Octavia A5 - fix for 3xxx/4xxx software also. Before Josi's fix I would get stuck on Audio and Navigation on the maxi dot i.e. I'd have to shut down columbus in order to get back to the main menu where I can choose from MFD, Audio, Navigation, and Setup. After applying the fix I can get back to the main menu normally by pressing the up or down button on the wiper stalk. Now my problem is that when I access the Audio menu I can't change the track or radio station by pressing on the wiper stalk button, nothing happens. It should change it but mine does nothing. Has anyone else had this same problem? Many thanks!
  5. Thanks for the reply Mike! Sure, It doesn't bother me as long as it's not causing any problems. Just thinking that would it pop up in the MOT inspection? During the inspection we have to have our cars obd tested where they read the fault memory. I don't know what they read as they have their own equipment. For instance, had an malfunction bypass valve which left an error code, but they didn't say anything about it.
  6. Is there anyway around this error? My dealer said that I have the same error regarding the immobiliser, but the car starts and runs just fine.
  7. That's what I told them as well but they insisted that it was for a FL model, even though it accepted the coding and everything else was working. I was just wondering maybe there was a tick in the wrong place. I'll send it back to Skodateile asking them to replace it.
  8. Hi guys! Sorry to post another maxidot issue, but I haven't found an answer to my problem. Typing this from Finland and I own a 2007 pre-fl Octavia Rs (2.0TFSI). I wanted to retrofit maxidot, so I bought a new instrument cluster from Skodateile. It was this particular dashpod: http://www.skodateil...|Octavia II(A5) My dealer now tells me that after installation the actual maxidot lcd is blank. Don't know really how to describe it other than that. The back light will come on, but it will show no data. Furthermore, they said that the dashpod is made in 2010 and for FL Octavia not Pre-FL. Any thoughts? Everything else works but the lcd. Thanks in advance!
