  1. Please can someone confirm what size the nut is on the battery retainer plate? I don't have tools and need the battery out to charge it properly so will need to buy or borrow something. Its a 2005 vrs and the version that is easier to get the battery out. Many thanks
  2. Many thanks These replies have been really helpful. As you can tell, I'm not very good with mechanical issues. *ive signed in with my phone and it's an old username, feel free to merge if mods prefer*
  3. Thanks for the replies I think they said there is a big hole in the casing and that's why it's not economical to recondition. Not sure of the gearbox code. Is there a way to find out without calling the garage? Sounds like I could get it done cheaper elsewhere but the trouble is the cost of moving it.
  4. Sorry my attachment didn't work in the first post
  5. Hi Can someone confirm this oil is okay for 2005 fabia vrs? I've looked on a few threads and what I have read has confused me a bit. Cheers Coiner
  6. Not much good paying 30 quid for 3 HPI checks and the information is not even correct. Thanks for the welcome. Stan.
  7. Good Evening, I am hoping to buy a used 2004 VRS and just HPI'ed one on the official HPI site. It has come up with a result saying the car is 5 speed gearbox rather than 6 and that it has had 1 previous owner before the current. Is the 5 speed gearbox thing a mistake on HPI's side of things or is something up here? It is says it is a Mk2, i thought a 2004 VRS was a MK1? The HPI check confirms it is a Fabia VRS TDI PD 130 so I can't understand it why it says it is 5 speed gearbox. Also is it common for the result to say it has had 1 previous owner by including the dealership, the guy definitely stated the car was bought new. Thanks, Stan
