  1. Lofty, "good" to hear i'm not the only one suffering I have retightened every single nut and bolt. So i'm quite sure it's the damn helper spring. Bushes, track rod ends and drop links are in good shape
  2. Hello guys Wow, the winter in Denmark is seriously rough this year! How about UK? I'm driving with Vmaxx coilovers, and i'm quite satisfied with the result. I know it's not the most expensive suspension, but it's ok for me. But seriously, one of the helper springs makes a really annoying, rattling sound. I'm sure some of you have the same problem, but what can I do to get rid of this sound? Or do I just have to live with it? It rattles when i'm driving on bumpy roads or hit a sewer cover.
  3. Hello everybody, ended up with the Vmaxx suspension. Will be fitted this week, I think. Actually, I recently decided not to go for coil overs and get a decent KW sports suspension. But f**k, I want to try coil overs...
  4. I fully understand that! It's my friends garage. He's currently restoring it, we only need to fix the walls and then get a lift. Will be awesome!
  5. I took this photo a few days ago, when me and my buddy polished my RS and his Ducati. I quite like it!
  6. Rob i'm so happy for your comment on my subject. I obviously have some doubt in that Vmaxx suspension, 'cause it's in the cheaper range of suspensions. So i'll definately think about it when it comes to the Vmaxx. But hey, your car looks great!
  7. Very good guys, i'll go for coilovers then. I just know that some Golf mk4 requires adjustable drop links if you want to go low.
  8. As topic says, i'm considering coilovers for my RS. It could be nice going a little lower than with the current 30/30mm lowering. I think i'm going for the Vmaxx setup, but do I need a pair of adjustable 'dogbones' if i'm going to use coilovers? Don't know if you're calling them dogbones in english, but here's a picture of what I call a dogbone http://oem-autodele.dk/images/thumbnails/250x200/FFFFFF/images/508761_1.JPG And for those of you considering to learn danish, they're called 'stabilisatorarm' in danish
  9. Change it, it has moved from it's normal position and it's also mouldering a little. You don't want the ball-joint to become dry :sun: Or at least just cut the strips and get a proper clamp or what you call it in english
  10. Sorry to read this! I hope you will find the problem. So far, mine has behaved fine with a nice acceleration, but damn, now my mpg sucks
  11. Update: today, i've changed the N75 valve and the coolant temperature sensor. I've driven approximately 8 miles home from work, with some better accelerations! I must say that it helped with the N75 valve, but let's see if it was just 8 lucky miles, or what. Stand by guys - update soon to come
  12. Matt, no wheel spinning here and no ESR light either. It's not only at full accelerating mine behaves weird, it's also if i'm just accelerating normally. So I don't think thats the reason
  13. I just looked at your thread Longyear, and I really don't hope I have these problems with the ECU. But it was very nice to know that it could also be a posibility! I think I will try changing the N75 valve first of all, and check the hoses in that area. I'm also tempted to look at the temp sensor, as I've noticed small oscillations in the instrument temp. Sometimes the coolant temperature drops just a little below 90 degrees. If none of these will help, I'll try monitor the MAF and get the car remapped at the best company in Denmark. I'm currently in a dialogue with them, and they claim that it's not the first time a mapped 1,8t has behaved like mine does
  14. Ok thanks, nice to know, important detail Well, I have access to a full version of VCDS, so I think I will try reading the airflow and boost, trying to determine whether it's a MAF or what. Thank you for your input! But how do I test the N75 valve? Also thanks to you Bodge. Well former owner got it mapped, but as far as I know, the company had the car at dyno and made a mapping for the specific engine. But i'm not quite sure 'bout this. By the way, I have changed the airfilter, and bought an original from Skoda.
  15. Just thought I would check the air filter, and I realised that it was a little greasy and with a smell of gasoline/oil. Could this have something to do with the SAI system? I definately have to replace it, but I don't know whether to buy a pipercross replacementfilter or if I should go for the CAI filter with a long pipe for front mounting?
