I’m getting my service done tomorrow on my diesel, luckily for me working in auto trade I get a discount so it doesn’t work out too bad

I have a mk3 1.6 elegance too engines are pretty bullet proof, they has the water coolant issue but is a known problem, mine hasn’t suffered from this though, mines the 5 speed manual and I do long drives down from Scotland to derby and I can sometimes see mpg in the 65 range which I’m happy with, variable service and in two years I’ve done 30k miles and no problems.

No sign of rust, it’s clean which is even more strange you can see shiny metal around where it’s sheared so I’m so confused, my cars a 63 plate elegance model, done 75k miles

I know I’ve definitely not heard anything as substantial, only thing I can think of was last night went to a restaurant and the car park there was as bumpy was it could be so maybe that had something to do with it? Other than that I have no idea, all I know is I now need a new guard, very strange

So my Octavia since yesterday had been making a rattling noise, from turning the music off and locating the problem to the drivers side front, on closer inspection it looked like the guard behind the brakes had moved and you could see marks on the inside of the alloys from it too, tried to get in to see if it was loose and it was and then as I was not home needed to make it safe to get home, managed to get it out and well I’m amazed looked like something has happened

I have the same problem but after say a minute, the dab will come back, fm reception is unaffected

How does this work in-terms of the car screen? Show mpg etc and can you change settings of the car as well? these features are the one things stopping me from changing system

Is it like a electronic squeak? Like a buzz? Most cars do this as it’s the electrical system turning off and also I believe the system is given a charge of current to give it a clean of sorts? No 100% on this but it’s my theory

They look fine too me too no ridge on the outside, no grinding or anything I think that garage is trying it’s luck

Mine does this going over speed bumps 63 plate Octavia never been a concern as it keeps passing its mot with flying colours so

A company that comes to Inverness every so often, I’m thinking I’ll be best going down possibly derby which is where I’m from to eventually get my car remapped, in terms of bhp what can be expected from the 1.6 tdi 63 plate

I also enquired a while ago about a remap and was a bit put off because the guy I spoke to said it was a take ecu out and actually unlock it on a bench before remapping it, seems like there’s a lot to go wrong with that?

I can’t belive they did away with the CD player in the new version, I have the 1st version much better

I had one side done Kwik fit 150 quid

I had a leaking passenger shock it was an advisery on its first mot once I bought it just after that Got it serviced earlier this year got told about it and I decided to use my third party extended warranty to replace it I wonder if there is something wrong with the shocks? A bad batch maybe or something

Worse has happened to my bonnet, due to stone chips and my pressure washer I peeled some paint off it was a crying moment believe me

Does it not do it if the driving modes in normal? I may be wrong and I may need to check I just thought it does?

It’s part of skodas simply clever ideas, like the ice scraper in the fuel cap area

There are two options with the reset oil and inspection being the two, you just hold it until it changes to the next one

Hey all seen all the guys doing customisations via vcds i would go into that but I don’t want to go to much into it, I’ve seen a few mention the carista app with the plug in, what customisations are available on the mk3 elegance is it worth it? Thanks

Again it’s each to their own but Philips are Philips and they are a decent brand that you know are going to work and do what it says on the box, Osram are the same just i prefer Philips. Philips do a white vision version which is a pretty good price maybe look at those?

I’ve recently done a thread on this and I’ve chosen to go with the Philips racing vision, they are by far the brightest for the price range I think is acceptable

Hey all thanks for the comments think I’ll go for the Phillips racing vision they seem the brightest out of the lot and the price currently is very respectable, the drls/ sidelights for the Octavia what figment are they want to change them with a better set too
