  2. I think you are right! Opened the over the battery fuse box and it looks like Fuse 6 is broken. Hopefully the warning light goes away after replacing it. Fuse4 looks like a spare 40A one, will try and use it. Picture attached for other Briskodians. These posts also helped - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/119972-00301-abs-return-flow-pump-v39/ http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/00301 Will give an update after replacing it. Thanks again.
  3. Thank you very much, bought 2 new brake lights from ECP for 60p and replaced my fused bulbs. Brake light warning disappeared from the dashboard, but EPC was still on. So, I erased it with the ODB2 tool and after a restart, it hasn't come back. Cruise control is working as normal. However, the ABS warnings still persist. Do you think it is a different all together? Thanks again for your advice. Information from this post also helped - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/184142-top-brake-light-works-side-dont-vag-error-16955/ Kind regards, Naga
  4. Thanks for your response. Yes, I have a fused brake light and shows up on the dashboard too, but I have ignored it for a while now. Do you really think EPC and ABS warnings are a resultant of that?? Many thanks, Naga
  5. Dear Briskodians, I have a 2002 1.4 Fabia Elegance and my Engine Management light has been on for a while. Showed it to an independent garage and they said it was down to faulty sensor and I ignored it. About a week ago, ABS warning light went off and it would go away despite multiple erases using my ODB2 VAG port scanner. The fault codes are - 00526 and 00301. And yesterday, to my surprise EPC warning light also went off. I have read some horror stories like power being cut off, etc., Nothing like that happened with mine, but my Cruise control wouldn't work anymore :-(. Can someone tell me if this is a serious issue or not? Kind regards, Naga
  6. Thank you. I wonder how much a mechanic would have charged me if I got them to repair it for me  . Glad it didn't cost me anything.
  7. Found it! Its an unplugged pipe. Added pics to illustrate the issue. Thank you all again!
  8. Hi ya, Thanks for highlighting the dribbling. Yes, I can confirm that there is leak somewhere under the bonet. Not sure if it is because of a plugged off pipe from a hose or a broken pipe. I have asked a friend of mine to check the leak while I operate. Will update the page tomorrow about the outcome. Where do you think the pipes originate from?
  9. Thanks for your response. Tried that as well... flipped the cap open, removed the nozzle as showed in this page - http://goo.gl/X7O52X Poked the nozzle with needle and even tried to operate the wiper without the nozzle (the motor must have flushed out water at this point) but it didn't really help.
  10. No, there is no puddle whatsoever. Do you think its the wiper motor that's clogged?
  11. Hi all, I have 02 Fabia Elegance which is in great condition except for a couple of niggles. One of those being the rear wiper motor. It rotates the wiper blade alright, but doesn't sprinkle the water any more. I can even hear it trying to pump fluid, but then nothing comes out. I suspect its either an unplugged pipe somewhere or clogged up water outlet (water in Swindon has a lot of calcium in it). Please can you tell me how I can debug this issue? Where can I check for the pipe that feeds rear wiper? If you think its clogged outlet, how can I remove the boot's plastic casing - I have tried, but I couldn't find a single screw to open it up. Thanks, Naga
  12. THanks for your prompt replies sepulchrave and BJB540. I will give VCDS lite a go and see if I zero-on the fault code. THanks again chaps, much appreciated. -Naga
  13. Hello all, My EML lit up this morning while I was driving to work. The car runs fine on its full power hence I deduced that it could be a spike of CO2 emissions beyond the limit. Saw an old thread here but it doesn't really tell how to reset the EML when it comes on. My EML came on about 6 months ago and I managed to reset it. I vaguely remember how I did it - I read something online about holding the trip meter down and turn it left and start the ignition or something in those lines. I am unable to find that page now, Can anyone tell me how to reset EML without using a VAG diagnostic tool? Thanks for your time, Naga
  14. Cheers pluse, eric87, hyte1, PastyBoy. - I booked the parts to be bought at local ECP for £46.65. Thanks to you folks here, I will save £10 by ordering it from ebay. Got in touch with a local independent mechanic and he is happy to charge me £35 for the job. Thanks again folks.
  15. Can someone tell me the cost to replace rear brake dics and pads for Fabia with 2002 plate. Halfords Auto Centre quoted me a price of £149. I have been told that I am better of buying the parts from ECP and get them fixed by an independent mechanic. Hence I have decided to go for the following: Pagid pads with no wear sensor - http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Skoda_Fabia_1.4_2002/p/car-parts/brakes/brake-friction/brake-pad/?101440328&1&263cc71b0df7caf3cf38a64f99cc567a92c78445&000036 Pagid Brake disc - http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Skoda_Fabia_1.4_2002/p/car-parts/brakes/brake-friction/brake-disc/?104440748&1&15f0662d9ea24ef357a68d96824c9fd05ae18380&000027# For this model, do I need pads with wear sensor on them? Your advice on this topic is highly appreciated. Cheers, Naga
  16. Relevant post found here - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/56141-indicator-tick-tock-no-longer-working/ Just learnt that all the sounds in the car (tick-tocks, door open/lights on alarm) are made by a buzzer which is housed in the cluster. In my case, it stopped working. But one fine day, it decided to work. It worked for a month and stopped again. That tells me that the buzzer has a loose connection - a disconnected wire or a dry solder joint. If so, should be able to fix it without replacing the whole cluster which would cost around £400 + - which I don't think is worth spending on my 10 year old Fabia. Can someone tell me where exactly this buzzer is so that I can examine the connectivity? Many thanks. Naga
  17. I have a 2002 Fabia Elegance 16V I no longer get warning sounds from the dash - indicator ticktocks, warning sound when the door is opened, warning sound when the lights are left on etc., With the help of a friend who owns Ross-Tech kit, I ran some diagnostics and looks like my Instrument cluster is healthy (whew!) - report shown below. Can someone tell me how to fix this? Is the warning buzzer also responsible for Indicator ticktock? Where is this buzzer located, if needs to be replaced? Please note that all the visual signs for indicator and door open warning light etc are working. Newbie!

Thanks for your response Coops. I have got an appointment with Ross, the Skoda maestro :-) And yes, the price you have suggested has been quoted. Thanks again. Naga
  19. Hello Skoda world! I recently bought a Fabia 1.4L Elegance. I love the car and I am here to gain more knowledge about the cars and Fabia in particular. I am planning to retrofit Cruise Control on to my lovely Fabia. Can someone tell me how much it would roughly cost? regards, Naga
