  1. Ah ok how much would one of them cost ?
  2. Took a guy out for a look see and car did this problem again a few times , I had to feather the throttle to make it pick up. On boost it seems fine. But everytime it happens I have to feather pedal. Are there any sensors at the pedal ?
  3. Cheers dean , we've decided it's time to sell up and get another car
  4. I did have a bulb out and think it was the brake light , but that was changed and had been fine . Can have a look at the lights again and see if there's any bulbs out or flickering Either way wifes said time for another car so this one's going 😔
  5. Dean pump cost £54 , filter cost £6.75, and throttle body cost £78 . Not breaking the bank but with labour it put price up to £282
  6. Done that and he still can't find out why its doing what it's doing
  7. What about sensors?
  8. Does the potentiometer on the throttlebody come with it ? Having to keep stabbing accelerator peddle just to keep it moving . Car doesn't stall when tryin to drive . Has to be fuel or injectors but I ain't a mechanic
  9. Could it also be the injectors ? If cleaned / replaced do they need to be programed like certain other brands ? If I can't fix it then cars for sale , another £282 spent on fuel pump, throttle body / swirlpot and fuel filter plus labour
  10. Now does in a straight line , pulled away from garage and was stuttering . Could it be injectors or coil packs breaking down ?
  11. New swirlpot and throttle body and now doing it in a straight line a little but apparently clear on the bends. Guy seems to think it's fuel now as pump , filter , swirlpot and throttle body all changed
  12. Cars done 150,000 and was going strong . Only things left to check are fpr, and fuel tank / fuel , ( fuel filter and injectors but these wouldn't cause car to lose power on a right hand bend )
  13. No lights come on and I've already had the sump pick up pipe cleaned although it was a few years ago And I've only done 32,000 miles in 9years since owning car
  14. Normal throttle on right hand band . I've had to stab the peddle to get a response. Mechanic has changed pump and problem still there , I suggested the swirl pot and he said he could check it .
  15. Yeah think it's the pump , in a straight line I've got power, soon as I hit a right hander I have no power And have to hit the accelerator to the floor to get going. Might have to sell the auld girl to an enthusiast
  16. Gave it a wee bit of stick , Acceleration seems fine but when I hit a right hand bend it lost power and just as I was 100yrds from house I had to turn right it lost power again . No warning lights came on . Any ideas
  17. Will find out soon enough but never had a problem with it till now and have been using it for years. Cars serviced last August so am stumped unless I've got a loose connection also
  18. Think I've got a fuel, fuel pump or fuel filter issue as 2 days now I've had a brief loss or lack of power for a couple of seconds . I've taken it for a blast and was fine ish until I turned of main road where it did it again. Anybody got any ideas ? No lights on or come on when it happens . It's only happened since I've put more morrisons fuel in 5 days ago
  19. More gremlins, have had the crank sensor changed again. Was running like it had a fuel problem . Was serviced in August. Maybe time for a newer octavia
  20. Gear box oil level should have been sorted as car was given full service so all fluids should have been changed for new.
  21. Just as I'm moving of / or riding clutch waiting to move. 2nd gear also but not at a higher speed / power. 3rd and 4rth seem to be ok. Car not worth much and have just spent a few quid sorting out suspension components
  22. Anybody know for sure ?
  23. hi folks I have noticed a whining noise in 1st and 2nd gear at low speeds / moving away. Noticed it on yesterday's drive driving down from just outside fort william and a wee while ago whst nipping out to shop. Car has done 149000miles and was serviced last week. Please tell me its a thrust release bearing or clutch and not anything to do with the gearbox
