Looks like i've really been barking up the wrong tree here or perhaps there was something catastrophic about my post. -

In the light of my current circumstances, what chances do I stand to get a bit more discount. -
1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engine failures
shady-ninja replied to DGW's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I took the car to the main stealers and they confirmed that the chain had slipped or collapsed and all the valves are bent. they now want £9k,......................, YES, £9000 for a replacement engine. I opened a case with Audi UK then the stealers offered a goodwill of 60% plus £300 towards servicing bringing the total to almost £4000. that's still a lot of money. Audi UK said they wont make any contribution because I did my last service outside the stealership network. that's quite cheeky considering that I had three services with them. -

hope I'm not gate crashing on this thread. I've also been a victim but my car is an Audi A3 8p 1.8T FSI 16v engine code CDA late 2009 but classed as a 2010 model. it gave no noise warning but a slight misfire then engine light came on for 45 seconds then cleared but later when coming home it stuttered and once I switched the engine off it refused to start. looks like these things don't exist on Audi-sport.net or maybe they are too scared to voice up but I praise the courage of you guys on this forum for dedicating this thread -
that's an immaculate collectors item.

my b12 sportsline seems to be getting harder with time when you chuck the car through corners but on the straight line its smooth. the car still sits at OEM height though. . -

i had my B12 sportline fitted 2 weeks ago but it stil sits high just like OEM. i spoke to eibach and bilstein and they said it should settle down in about 700 miles. so far ive done over 450 miles and nothing has changed. -
i got one with the sportsline kit in the end for a good price. i cant wait to fit it.

sorry i have been away for a while now. just to let you know, i ended up settling for K&N Typhoon CAI. one thing i must say is that the throttle response is alot better, it has an intimidating whoosh sound to scare off pedestrians and j-walkers. and it is awesome. will post pics soon. -

jabba looks like this http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b43/shady-ninja/JABBA1.jpg -
I'm confused on which construction of CAI will give my APR tuned 1.8 20 vt Toledo. Awesome GTI says the Carbonios location of the cone filter behind the wheel arch allows for the extraction of cold air. On the other hand Jabba is against this and belive that the location of the cone filter inside the engine bay in the exact position of the original air filter is good. In my opinion Its quite obvious that you get more heat in engine bay than inside of the wheel arch. Please some help me. Have a look at both constructions in the links below. http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/images/carbonio1.jpg http://www.jabbasport.com/product_fu...p?ProductID=30
