Octavia 1.6 CR TDi ownership and reliability
tupray replied to jonny123456's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Jonny123456 , yes !! , but was glad to get rid , better to take a loss than run around in a car you dislike ( I have to say in the past I did have 2 , 1.9 Tdi , one manual and one DSG , Both great cars , must be the 1.6 TDI I had problems with -

I went from a Roomsters tsi , 1.2 105 bhp to 12 plate Octavia 1.6 TDI , should have stayed with the Roomser , had the Octy 6 weeks , ( it felt like a car from by-gone -days ) sold it for a Yeti 2.0 TDI , heaven . I found that the Octy was under powered and not a smooth drive , go for a 2.0 tdi -
Great cars ( 105bhp 1.2tsi ) we had one , the only thing we did like was the rake of the front doors , the top of the doors has a curve , we were for ever banging our heads on it , nearly took one of the wife's eyes out , (very nasty), sad but the roomy had to go replaced with a fabia ( different top door design ) no more head banging
-
Benji96 , do not dismiss the tsi 105 petrol engine , take one for a drive , you will be amazed by the drive , looking at your driving needs this engine will suit your needs , you could for little money pimp up a SE model , you could get a newer car in this disguise than a vrs
-
Off the point a little I know , have a good look at a second hand " fabia 11 " SE with the 1.2 tsi 105 bhp , great cars , they have a great turn of speed , cheap to run , decent kit too
-
You seem to be a fabia fan , what age is your new fabia , what milage ? Demand some form compension if the car found to be faulty
-
Yes £9,500each , mats , side strips , full tank of fuel , full size spare wheel , metallic paint , 3 years free servicing , what closed the deal was that I secured a further £1000 for the part exchange vehicle ( yeti ) over and above what others were offering , as said " not pre- reg" o yes "sill protection"
-
Previous model , mk2
-
One for me and one for her indoors , the spec and the deal on these two smart looking cars including 3years free serviceing was not to be missed
-
After reading the above posts , I think I got the deal of 2015 , I bought TWO 2015 , 64 plate fabia SE 70bhp , very good spec ( not pre reg ) for £19,000 , two for the price of one

Review on the little 1.2 htp 70
tupray replied to casement1992's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
We have two 64 reg , both feel very responsive in the low rev range , find it very responsive when setting off , level and incline , we came from yeti 2.0 110bhp and a Roomster 105 bhp tsi , I have to say we were not disappointed , the only concern is midrange on the motorway , drop a cog and these little cars respond and the speed limit ( 70 mph ) is a doddle to maintain -

Great little car ( 64 reg ) hard to believe it's a 3 pot -
I sold a yeti TDI for a fabia 1.2 , 70 bhp se ,Got a great deal ( one of the deals Skoda gave on the run- out SE model ) 5 months on and no retreats , these fabias are great cars

If only 3 months in you should get the bulk of it back ( I did ) check your details on your gap ins cert , sent them a letter explaining that you no longer have the car and request a refund ( the gap I refer to was the Skoda one )
-
You can if it was through Skoda ( pro- rata ) I have claimed my gap back on my last 3 Skoda cars ( only claim back if within the period you paid for )

Great replies and interest and thoughts , the s/ Yorkshire meet was well attended why not build on that , how many went to last meet , how many went to the las s/y meet , there was a diversity of cars at the s/y meet , even a few newbies

The post office had a better turn out , why not go back

went to fill up at my local Shell filling station ( never been there before ) I normally fill up with bog standard diesel , however on this occasion I filled with " V-Power , a lot more expensive , however I almost immediately found the car ran somewhat better , quicker , smoother , and an increase in MPG , I ask ? am I imagining this or is the fuel I put in that good , I drive a Yeti ( 2012) 2.0 lt tdi , 110bhp
