The airbag is included in the eBay item. It is not necessary to disconnect the battery. Just don't turn the key when the airbag is disconnected. You will get an error that needs to be cleared afterwards. By special tool I ment the xzn top/bit. Not all people have that in the toolbox.

It is a easy mod. I used the German guide a year ago. I have fitted to superb mk1 lights (front and back) Be aware that you need to do some modifications because of lack of space. It is a real nice upgrade if you do at lot of night driving.
