  1. Hi Folks I have a 2013 Plate Skoda Fabia petrol, 1.2l. Last week I had a bad gearshift and then lost the ability to get into 2nd or 4th gear entirely. Since getting it home, I did lose all gears for a period, but i've since had a play with the linkage cables to reset them, and i've got to a point where it can drive again in Rev/1st/3rd (not had the space to get up to 5th) but it still doesnt feel good. Trying to drop into 2nd and 4th and it feels like the gears/shifter gets stuck/unalligned before it can be forced back into place. The cables and linkage system seems ok - but i've also not really got a clue what i'm looking at either. I've no attachment to the car, its just hit 160k miles so resale value is pretty much tanked at this point. Does this feel like trying to repair is throwing good money after bad at this point? It was always a "run until dead" sort of car, but part of me feels like it does have some life left in it based on what i've descibed?
