  3. Hi, I run a Superb Elegance estate. It came up at a good price with extras (it was a manager's car) The Octavia may serve you just as well, but to drive the superb is a fantastic experience. I got a 140 bhp as it keeps me tax down It goes well and there is enough ooph in hte engine to do the overtaking bit OK. Get a test drive withthe superb and the octavia then make your mind up. Go for the best you can possibly afford - you will be glad you did.

too true, nobody seems to want to work for a living any more.

The younguns all want to be singers actors dancers or sportspeople. Nobody seems to want to do anything ordinary.

  5. Bite the bullet. Get a couple of local indy's in + one of the biggies ( British Gas/EON) to give a price. See if you can get a Worcester Bosch Combi. Fantastic boiler. Company I work for ( Test Lab) tests boilers from many makers - these are our favourites. Good luck and hope the cost is reasonable. You wont regret it.
  6. Hi, you don't say where you are in the country but there are lots of companies that will train you. Be carelful though, there are a lot of companies now who are "middle men" they take your money and set you up with someone you could have contacted yourself more cheaply. 1. Make SURE it is waht your boy wants to do. Its lonely and takes a few years experience before you will be hitting good money. 2. Get driving lincence sent off to get the L status on for LVG 2 (you have to do this first) 3. Find a reliable company to train you. I used to work for one in Coventry - they were fair 4. get a medical - a good training company may have a "tame" GP who will give you a sensible price for a medical otherwise it can be £100+ 5. Talk to your training provider. They may book your computer test at the same time as your package (see what training packages they offer) - don't go for one less that 5 days, chances are the boy won't pass. 6. see what a package would cost to get LGV1 followed by Tanker (hazfreight) ADR and CPC Digital Tacho Training 7. See if your trainer has any "Tame" companies that can offer a job. Many top firms won't take a newly qualified, but ask for a minimum of 2 years exp. Contact me if I may be of help Goblin.x
  7. Hi I have not been a Skoda owner for very long. What criteria do I have to meet to attend the meeting?
  8. Well, I've been and done and bought it! Picking up Black Superb Estate on Saturday morning. XX thanks to all
  9. Thanks for that. I like the estate as the best looking. I have seen a black one that I will probably go for . Husband likes the Hatch - but I will be paying for it!
  10. I will be buying my first Skoda next week. the whole family is giving me grief wnating input to the decision ( which is how we do things anyway) Looks like we will be going for the superb model. But whether to go for the Estate or the Hatchback??? And if the Hatchback - which colour? We are down to Black, White, Grey, Silver or Beige.
