everything is fine in the car, I will try what fordfan said, but I was talking to a Skoda mechanic today and he said just turn the sidelights on to put an load on the engine and it didnt work

It needs to idle at 2500rpm for the emissions test and it won't idle at that , it just revs up to 4000rpm when you hold down the accelator a bit

I have an 1.6 Skoda Octavia AUV engine. I put it in threw its NCT test and it would not pass the emissions test because they could not get the car to idle for long enough. Could any body tell me how to make it idle for it to be tested, I already talked to a SKoda mechanic and he told me, I just had to put the side lights on, but that didnt work, I got the car up to running temperature when I tried it. Can any one help me, my NCT is on Friday the 24th of august.
