Thanks a lot y'all. I did the service. Yes service here in DK is overpriced. Overpriced if I compare it to prices in Czech or maybe Germany. At least, the price I paid including petrol was lower than what it will cost in DK at a skoda dealer. Still I would really like to have the option just to leave it for top service at an autorized skoda dealer. But I'm left with a car mechanic who are not a specialized Skoda mechanic. If I find the time, I might take the drive to CZ or Germany, for service or another little project I seem too dumb/lazy to sort out myself.

Can I install a steering wheel like Eddie-NL ? My car is a pre FL I guess. My octavia is from 2005 1Z3. Looks better than 1Z0 419 091 S. Or any other better looking steering wheel.. Skodadop.com has many nice ones.. tried emailing them a few times, but no answer...

My next project is a new steering wheel. this seem to be the right place to begin. Skoda dealer gave me the part number for a MFSW 1Z0 419 091 S E74. I was told that the last S E74 was very important... true? If not, how will I find the correct MFSW for my Octavia MK2 ( production peroid 2004/06 - 2010/12 ) ? other than the actual steering wheel, how do I make sure that I order the right parts?

nahh the wiring still cause problems. It's the heating. I am not sure about how to at all. The yellow connector is the same on the old and new. Then I have 1Z0 959 772 which is the control unit for the heat in the seat, a little black box, which is not intergrated with the seat. But will it control the heat in the new seat? Left is a third little connector which is not the exact same but still present on both old and new seat. official Skoda dealer could not help without looking into diagrams which would cost... A specialized VAG repair shop helped better, but answers still remain...

cool. I have a pair of 2013 mk 3 front seats.My car is a 2008 mk2. How about the wiring, can you help? plugs are different, but is that all?

I at least saved 60% on the trip, hotel and all costs included. Took me three days, had some friends with me. of course I didn't just go there for a simple oil change.

mikeholroyd This is it, savings. Just to give you an idea, here in dk we pay 180% tax on top of the actual price of the car. Car service / repair pretty much follow this scheme.... again, why nut just telling me, ' hey this dealer in czech seem reliable, he did a good job' Then we could have kept the thread down to a few posts...

Chris, you got the last word then. I will dig back to my cave. if anyone would like to know about service prices and conditions in czech rep. I have the expierence.

Well, here is my update. Thanks for all your kind words. I really appreciate the understanding. The thing is that my car understood the thread slightly different. Early this morning it exploded in a purple fire. It's now the second hour with flames. Also hundreds of little elfs and smurfs are running out of the flames. I have recorded everything and will post the video When the fire stops. Now I have all these little smurfs and elfs running around. I might sell them in order to finance my next ride. Already have my eyes on a chinese QQ car. What an adventure it will be! Thank you!
