  1. Me again! Please take note of the newly reduced price of £3000 ONO. Would love for someone from the Briskoda community to benefit from the fun and versatility that this vehicle offers. NB car listed on eBay at a higher price currently so grab yourself a bargain!
  2. Price drop as per title, folks. New price is £3500. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Thanks.
  3. Car comes with both remote keys in working condition (both original). Road tax is (I think) £270 as this engine emits 190g/km of co2.
  4. Evening all, difficult to gauge the market value of mkII vRS estates at the moment but I would be willing to let the car go for £3300 this week if anyone is interested.
  5. New price for this car loaded with extras. Now £4000 ono.
  6. Arrival of a company car has forced the reluctant sale of this magnificent Diamond Silver Mk2 vRS petrol estate with 200BHP and only 1 previous owner. 7. For what it's worth I've just changed from a mk2 octavia vrs estate to a mk3 octavia scout and there seems to be a noticeable amount of extra legroom for front and rear passengers in the mk3. It might only be a cm or two but it makes a difference.
  8. First of all, I will be honest and upfront by saying I'm currently the owner of a 2006 vRS petrol estate with 103k on the clock which is up for sale on Autotrader. These cars are absolutely fantastic when they're maintained properly. Regular oil changes are essential (I always prefer to change at max 10k miles intervals) as is cambelt replacement within schedule (Skoda UK now advise 85k intervals btw). Full service history is worth a lot. Common problems experienced include sawtoothing of rear tyres owing to incorrect camber settings from the factory which have now been updated which I or other members of this forum would be happy to supply. Some owners have found carbon buildup on the back of the intake valves owing to the fact the fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber and not over the back of the valves themselves. Giving the engine a good work out every now and then seems to prevent this problem from occurring but if you notice a wobbly / hesitant engine at idle this would be a likely cause. Happy to answer any other questions you've got. Good luck with the search!
  9. The rattle is coming from a loose heat shield that covers the cat. Some of the clips have come off. Need new clips.
  10. Thanks MicMac. I will check. Any tips on how to stop the rattle (if at all possible)?
  11. Anyone managed to fix this? Mine has rattled for months but I haven't got round to fixing it. For the record I hear an annoying tinny rattle every time I close the boot or rear passenger side door. My car is a 2006 vRS estate. Noise seems to come from the rear near side somewhere beneath the door.
  12. Now I read it again, I think Minimoke is spot on.
  13. Where are you getting this deal from? It's pretty good.
  14. Thanks David, I'll take you up on your kind offer and send the pdf over a bit later today.
  15. Hi David, I am in an identical situation to OCScene in that I am expecting to take delivery of an Octavia Scout on a 24 months Contract Hire. The contract I have just received is through Volkswagen Financial Services Limited but I'm having trouble working out where exactly in the schedule it makes it clear as to which of option 1, 2, or 3 VWFSL would invoke in the event that the car was a total loss. Are you familiar with these contracts and where it might state which one is applicable? Many thanks, Paul
  16. Has your engine oil been changed at regular intervals in line with recommended service guidelines? Some engines, that have not had regular oil changes, have been known to suffer from sludge which blocks the pickup pipe in the sump which can then have the effect of starving the engine of oil, causing the red warning symbol and audible bong alert to come on. Serious engine failure could result so please do not ignore this. My advice would be to stop the car and get it checked out by a competent technician. The only sure fire way to check if the gauze at the entrance of the pipe is sludged up would be to drain the oil and then drop the sump. You would probably be wise to change the part in any case just for peace of mind. Cost of part is about £35 I think. Hope this helps.
