  2. Looks very nice indeed sir. Take it from someone who has had a new engine due to oil, don't worry about it at all just take the extended warranty and enjoy as I am 100% sure you will love it and there are more vrs's with out oil issues than there is with Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  3. I just my car back today and after reading the post above I totally agree that the people in the dealers don't have a clue, if you go through to SUK ask to speak to the tech dept as the person calling you is just a case handler and is not usually technically qualified and they will be the first to admit this. 4. Guess who is back with a new pacemaker! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. When I started my thread 15months ago before I bought my car I called SKODA and asked was there still an issue with oil usage and engine failures to which I was told " no this is a past issue and has been resolved with a new updated engine called the CTHE rather than the troublesome CAVE" I believed this and proceeded with my car order. After the first 1500miles with no oil usage of note the car started to drink it by the liter every 400 to 500 hundred miles. I had the car in and out of the dealers 3 times and on each occasion they had it for a week to complete and oil consumption test. After the third test I was told the car was not using any oil at all ( 12 litres already used at this stage ) and I was just bewildered with there response. I called SKODA uk and explained to them that I wanted it on record that I would now only top up oil as per handbook guidelines so 500ml per 1000km and I was confident that the engine would fail due to it having a lack of oil in it. 3 months later which brings us to last week I was traveling on the motorway and the engine warning light came on and the car started to shutter quite badly. I called SKODA assistance and they called out the RAC and when they plugged in the laptop it showed up cylinder 2&4 deactivation. I got the car back to the dealer and waited a week of it to be diagnosed before being told it needed a new engine and I would have to wait another 10days for the engine to arrive and be fitted. I hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I have just been told due to my car having burnt out exhaust valves I'm getting a new engine after 16700 mls. Such cack engines VW have made :( Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  8. Just a little update in the car issue, turned out to be nothing to do with the air filter and the car is getting a new engine after just 16,700k from new :( fills me with so much confidence in the car now :( Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  9. I check the oil every week and every time I checked the oil was almost off the dip stick so this is how I came to realise there was an oil issue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I have put the oil in And the garage put 1l in, have had 3 oil tests done with the end result each time of it's not using any oil to which I said "must be me drinking it then" but went through the proper procedure of logging it with SKODA uk and explaining that I would no longer keep topping it up with vast amount off oil and would go by the handbook requirements and that I was confident the car engine would fail, "it did". So hopefully they don't mess about and admin it's a lemon engine and fix it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. They have said it is down slight compression on cylinder 3&4 and down a lot of compression on cylinder 2. They are starting the strip down tomorrow to find the cause of the fault. My car has had an oil usage issue ( 12l in 16k to which the garage has said it used none lol ) so I am assuming this has something to do with the failure Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  12. Spoke with Skoda uk on Friday and the dealer had reported the filter to them. Skoda say the filter has not invalidated my warranty but if the fault was caused by the filter then it's a different story. The filter is 1 month old and has only done 1700ish miles so I would be doubtful it would be clogged that quickly. I have spoke with k&n direct and they also shared the view that the car has sensors to control air furl mixture and that the filter could not cause the issue described. As a result if SKODA cover the work then great but if they say it's a result of the filter then they have to sent proof to K&N as their warranty also covers your engine as we'll and any damage caused by there product they will correct. 13. Sorry car is a 2013 vrs with 17k on it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hi all, Was driving down the motorway yesterday when my engine management light came on and the car started labouring badly, I pulled over and rang SKODA assistance who sent the rac out! The rac guy pluged his computer in and it came up engine misfire in cylinder 2 and 4. He changed the coil pack over on cylinder 4 and it cured the problem and I limped the car back to SKODA to get it sorted. Got a phone call today to get told that the car has pressure issues and that the car is running lean and that because I am running a k&n pannel filter this is the reason for the issue and that my warrantyay be void, has anyone else experienced this? 15. Undo the plastic clips on the underside of the bootlid, this gives access to the back of the lights, on the right hand side of the light there is a metal clip, push this in and push the light down and it will pop out, total time to do is about 5mins Marty
